The only team with a comparable pass rush to the Hawks are the Colts

due respect Jack, but this demonstrates that you're not paying attention to situational football. both teams appeared to have elite pass rushes b/c of the situations their offenses put them through throughout the season. you can't just look at it in a vaccuum like that.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm talking about teams that Pittsburgh has played in the playoffs. There is no doubt that Indy and Seattle are two of the best teams in the league in rushing the passer and Cincy and Denver are two of the worst.

The Steelers stock is high right now because of how convincingly they handled what were considered the 2 best teams in the league in their stadiums.

[/ QUOTE ]

fwiw, I think at least part of them beating the Colts had something to do w/ a nearly 1-month span since they played a meaningful game (SD). Not taking away from the Steelers winning that game, but Indy looked rusty to me. it is possible though, maybe it just looked that way b/c the Steelers were just that good.

the Denver win was impressive, they owned the Denver offense and it never got on track.

You must also acknowledge that SEA crushed WAS & CAR; the scores of those games weren't close, but they indicated closer games than what actually took place.

You can make the case that WAS & CAR <> IND & DEN, but i've always skeptically regarded that type of analysis; it doesn't say anything meaningful about the teams that beat them.

stop kidding yourself. the steelers have no chance to win this game. they are outmanned in practically every position on both sides of the ball. also, the steelers caught breaks in all their playoff games this year. palmer going down, indy not playing for a month, denver screwing up an easy INT TD early in the game. their luck runs out in the superbowl. i guarantee it.
