Do you guys recommend setting up your own e-commerce site or just auctioning items?

[/ QUOTE ]

Personally I think if you have the cash and the inventory why not do both and see if one is better than the other.

My company which features myself, my wife, and one part time shipper generates around 120k a month profit after wages, expense, ebay fees etc...we pay the shipper 8 bucks an hour and wife and I take 1,000-3500 a week depending on what we need etc.

[/ QUOTE ]

If you're making 120k profit a month:
1. Why dont you take bigger salaries from the company, i.e. what type of working capital do you need to re-invest?
2. Why dont you hire more people?

3. How is what you do different than the "I sold it on EBAY" stores?

Sold a Construction crane for 100,000.00, and weirdest is something I didnt sell but a person brought in wanting to sell. A woman whos husband had past away asked the doctors to remove his titanium hip with the hopes of selling the titanium on Ebay. Ebay doesnt allow that seeing as it had been inside his body..WOW nice lady.

The state I live in is such that I have a 7500 sq foot house and its paid for, it was under 500k. I drive a nice car as does the wife and we have every toy we want etc. I dont take a bigger salary as I dont really need it, and being a LLC I can take a big check at the end of every year without the tax worries of a S.P. As far as why not hire more, were trying weve been through 8 people and none worked out. And what I do is 75% the same as I sold it except that I personally am there for every customer, I personally sell every item for them, I am not a franchise, and our customer service is 10x what theirs is. I sold it can take 5 months to pay you, I pay checks that I personally write every 2 weeks. I also look up and do research for any item I do not know a lot about. The research end something they never do, can be difference if 100s if not 1000s of dollars. I have 9+ years experience selling, most of the franchise stores have only been open 2 years or less and employ 16 year old listers...were the same yet very different.

just to simplify I'm going to use easy numbers

say your LLC makes $1,000,000
you pay your self $50k
you give yourself a $150k bonus (end of year)

what do you do with the remaining 800k?
Can you just leave it in the company checking account?
Can you invest it in something as a company asset?

are these things something you learned how to do through school/CPAs/business financial advisor?

I def see myself moving away from my hamster wheel and starting an LLC eventually....where/how did you get started?

Do you have any experience dropshipping?

I've thought of selling on ebay for a living before, especially since I know the system pretty well for a "layman". But if I'd do it, I'd probably aim for dropshipping.
Any thoughts on that?

How good do you think it would be for the internet auction market if a true competitor to both ebay and paypal were to appear? (I'm hoping for GoogleBay, and GooglePay)

[/ QUOTE ]

I'll answer this since I sell a lot on eBay.

IT WOULD BE [censored] FANTASTIC! I DREAM ABOUT THIS EVERY NIGHT! I WOULD MASTERBATE IN THE MIDDLE OF TIMES SQUARE IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN.

Howdy, I know nothing about drop shipping except that I have heard it tends to be a lot of work for very little money. Your better off doing consignment shop out of your house id say.
