could anyone who's picked cutler in the top 4 please explain why?
i can see taking him over eli or vick, as you can make an argument we already know those two are mediocre to average and they have little chance of signifigantly improving at this point. i don't see how you can think he'll be better next year than young or leinart who basically everyone in football thought were better than him coming out of college and who have taken actual snaps in game this year. they started out better and they have more experience. alex smith you can argue started from further back than cutler, but he's playing the best out of the three players in that age group and he's got the most experience. if cutler is so good, why did so many teams pass on him in the draft and why is jake plummer of all qbs starting ahead of him? |

Many of the teams ahead of AZ had Cutler ranked ahead of Leneirt...they simply chose not to take QB's for multiple reasons.
Because Den unlike all those other teams doesn't uterly suck and because JP took the Broncos one game away from SB. Cutler could end up bein awful next year.but so could Eli and Vince Young. Cutler will however be playing with the best team...so given his arm/accuracy is far superior to ML and he is a far mroe complete passer to VY..I'll take him over the both of them |

how could anybody hate on VY? i don't get it. VY > all of the other QBs in high pressure situations. the man's got nerves of steel. or did nobody watch the rose bowl?

[ QUOTE ]
People saying Vick makes your team money, winning makes your team more money than selling jerseys. [/ QUOTE ] As I said above, winning is fleeting. Tampa Bay and Oakland were in the Super Bowl just a few short years ago. They suck now. Pittsburgh won the SB last year. They suck now. [ QUOTE ] What percent of the Falcons net income is made up of Vick's jersey sales? [/ QUOTE ] I don't know. But it's not just jersey sales. He sells out the stadium. He guarantees national games for the team. |

[ QUOTE ]
Leinart has regressed since his first start, and I'm not entirely convinced he can have any meaningful success in the NFL. [/ QUOTE ] He's gone from two consecutive starts with completion% in the 40s% to two in the 60%s, as well as setting a rookie record for passing yards in his most recent games. While he certainly had two bad games, I wouldn't exactly say he "regressed". |

[ QUOTE ]
He was rated by many as the best QB over both of them. [/ QUOTE ]He was rated BY SOME as the best QB, but the overwhelming majority had him as the #3 QB. I can't imagine that has changed since he hasn't even thrown a pass yet. |

I don't understand how anyone can't place Manning last out of that group of QBs.
He's already been in the league for 3 years and has a pitiful rating and td/int ratio despite having the best supporting cast out of the group fo QBs. |

I'd take Alex Smith for next year (just barely over Eli) and I think Leinart is going to have the most successful career (if that is what the second question is asking). He has a lot of talent and his current receiving core is up there with the '98 Vikings, Super Bowl Rams and the Colts of Peyton's 100000TD season.

[/ QUOTE ] I was talking about his receiving core, obviously all three of those teams had much better offensive lines. The '98 Vikings probably had the best of the three. Todd Steussie, Randall McDaniel, Jeff Christy, David Dixon and Korey Stringer. Not to mention Matt Birk, who was only a backup at the time... |
