Szechuan > Hunan > Cantonese. Agree/Disagree?

[/ QUOTE ]

I would disagree simply based on the fact that Dim Sum is Cantonese.

reading this thread made me depressed about what people think good chinese food is. my 3 menus would be:

1. salt/pepper pork, spicy prawns(same sauce as Gen.Tsuo's chckn), dry braised string beans, dumplings, hot/sour soup

2. salt/pepper shrimp, sea bass/tofu/black mushroom clay pot, whatever vegetable is fresh

3. pork dumplings, jampong(sp?) noodle soup, dry fried fish and or dry fried chicken wings, sauted spinach w/ garlic or maybe peashoots or whatever vegetable is fresh

and if only one dish for take out: oyster beef gi mein

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, no doubt. There's nothing wrong with americanized chinese food, but it's a shame to see so many people chiming in with "general's chicken. holla."

As some have said though, it really, really depends on the place. You gotta find the house's specialty.
