[ QUOTE ]
I dont know about you guys but arent you concerned you might hurt somebody? Take a reaction test after you have had 2-3 beers and compare with no beer. Its scary. [/ QUOTE ] Link? I don't drink and drive anymore, but it's not due to me being afraid of hurting anyone. I don't do it because way to many of my friends have gotton owi's. There's just way to many stupid things you can get pulled over for late at night that could lead to you getting in trouble. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] man people on these forums absolutely freak out at the first mention of driving after drinking. [/ QUOTE ] driving when actually drunk is pretty much just reckless disregard for human life. shockingly enough, it pisses people off. [/ QUOTE ] Please. Let's not overexaggerate things here. .08 is like 3 beers in an hour and that's "actually drunk" (at least in Maryland). I'm sure you NEVER do that,eh Xorbie? [/ QUOTE ] You know what? It's idiots like you that piss me off. Have you ever been hit by a drunk driver? Have you ever had to spend Christmas and New Year's at the hospital when you are 8 years old wondering if your mother and sister are going to live? It's been big news in North Jersey last week, but some [censored] rear-ended a car on Rt. 80 causing that car to cross the median and hit another car head on. Three people were killed. The kid who caused the accident walked away without a scratch. Know what he blew? A .09, he said he had 3 beers in NYC before coming home. So STFU, .08 is bad to drive. And no, not everyone drives when they drink. It's called being responsible. Maybe you should try it before you kill someone. If someone gets killed because of your stupidity, make sure it's you and not some innocent person. |

[/ QUOTE ] WHile I am sorry for your personal experience, it does not mean that all people are going be dangerous drivers at .09 BAC. The problem with BAC is that it measures the alcohol in your blood, not the effect on the person. There are plenty of people in the world capable of driving safely with a BAC above the legal limit. |

If I am going to go somewhere where I will be drinking a lot, I make sure I have a way to get home from someone sober BEFORE I go. Really, it's not hard to do. |

You'd have to drink 6 beers in an hour to be over the .08 limit (and 7 for any state where it is still .10). |

It depends on the type of drink, and the size of each drink. Making a blanket statement that you can "drink 5 drinks in an hour and still be good to drive" is just asking for trouble. |

[/ QUOTE ] Not to sound like the dick here, but who's to say the accident wouldn't of happened if he was stone sober? The fact is any accident where alcohol is involved it's just instantly assumed that the alcohol was the reason that it happened. Obviously this is sometimes the case, but not always. |
