My only problem with the ending was that it seemed like there were a number of far smarter ways that leo could have handled things.

I agree that theyre better ways he couldve handled it however after the hell he had been through for over a year I understand his motivations for doing it the way he did.

I loved this movie and am going to go see it again within the week. Havent seen Internal Affairs, ill have to buy that too.

I really liked this movie, not sure if I liked the ending. This is a great film but not on the level of Goodfellas.

DiCaprio was excellent in this. Very suprising because going in I thought he would be the weak one of the bunch and that certainly was not the case.

I will definitely see this again in the theaters. Lots of chirping from the crickets and freaking cell phones but having to stand up and tell everyone to STFU is always fun.

BTW, The envelope Costigan handed to the shrink I am fairly certain was his police file, the one Sullivan (Damon) erased.

Did they ever say how long he was undercover? They did mention it as many years in IA (can't remember, 10+ years). I don't remeber them mentioning anything about it in The Departed but still got the impression it was over many years.

They said a year in The Departed.

BTW Someone mentioned the movie 300. Assuming that was about the Battle of Thermopoly then it should be a kick ass movie.

great great movie. instant dvd purchase. will probably see at least once more in theaters.

loved this movie,

2 things, i especially liked the lighthouse picture in the background (actual photograph) in Damon's apt that I have hanging in my apt.

2 - there was a TERRIBLE remake of Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb in this movie, I mean wow. Don't even try, you can't compare to PF.

Other than that, so great.

just got back from the movie. i thought it was incredible. just an awesome movie. i have never seen the Infernal Affairs...can i find it at a movie store, or would i need to buy it?

[/ QUOTE ]

you can find it at any borders for $15, about the same price on amazon.com too. probably can find it at best buy now too.

[/ QUOTE ]

2 and 3 though aren't readily available to buy, I think you pretty much have to get them off of netflix

[/ QUOTE ]

The copy of III I got from Netflix wouldn't play with English subtitles, though they were an option on the menu, and didn't have English as an option. So I got another one, same thing.
