UA, You're right, which is why the founding fathers created a constitutional Republic based on individual rights rather then democracy which invitably becomes the system we see today.

Yeah, goodp oint, this country isn't supposed to be a pure "democracy" anyway (federated republic).
Regardless rather than wig out about the system (which is flawed of course, but they all are) we need to just WIN. That is we need to use what we have (our votes, our money, our influence, etc.) in order to get what we want through the political process. And if that doesn't work, ok I'll sign up for the revolution.

Hey, why is half of your rant about Bush, when the person who amended the bill was Frist, and not Bush? Doesn't make much sense to me.

As a conservative (but definitely not a republican), I can easily tell that you have absolutely no fundamental understanding of economics by this paragraph.
"Keep paying $3 per gallon, you right-wing-holier-than-thou [censored]. Take your smelly [censored] sneakers off when you get on a [censored] airplane" Again though, on the whole I agree with you, but the problem is linked much more to our legislature as a whole than any particular party.
