Ahh Traffic sweet trafic.

There is no doubt that as long as possible split should be avoided, but traffic has become too high. If spend (litteraly) one day in STT and when I return there are a zillion posts

I'm in favor, and the proposed split is exactly how I would do it.

I don't like the idea of the split. I think that a better solution would just be to make 200NL strictly SSNL if it bothers Mid-Stakes that much.

SSNL is a great place for players to really get a footing on their game. Players come here when they start at the smallest $2NL games and spend a lot of time here as they move up to the $200NL games and beyond. They learn, build relationships, and really develop a camaraderie and motivation to contribute because of the time spent here. I mean have you seen the Master Sticky for SSNL, it's incredible!! All the great posts in that sticky are a direct result of that motivation to contribute that comes from spending so much time here.

What we share is that we are all working on putting together a solid game here in SSNL. In terms of breaking down a hand, we are all still figuring out how to apply the same basic concepts. Sure, the "common" opponent in NL25 might be a bit different from NL200, but i don't think that is not enough reason to break up a forum with so many other positives.

It's almost impossible, right now, for someone to keep up with the traffic in SSNL. It would be a full time job. I post a fair amount here but all I do is skim for interesting titles and long-term poster. 1/2 needs to be moved down and that will add a ton of posts. It may not be wholy perfect (hey it would be nice if the HSNL guys were to post here too, right?) but I think it now needs to be done.

Here's a suggestion that I think could help the "the micro guys will just get bad advice" argument:

How about a group of poob's get together and write the FAQ for the Micro, AND More importantly write a basice strategy sticky.

I know all things are situational!!!!!!!!
But, what we're saying here is the lower you go the less situational it is.

Things that could be included;

Preflop charts- FR & 6Max, Ive got a draw-where do I go from here?, Should I standardize my bets/raises or mix it up?(bet sizing), A little on pot control(especially with TPTK), etc . . .

One more thing- How about a once a week "SSNL Guy in the well", limited to poker questions only?

Any thought on this?

I meant for the micro. I know where it is, but they may not.

Plus I was speaking of brief summary of the stuff in the SSNL sticky. Give them a rundown of a few basic concepts to read and then tell them where to find more info(links).

Just answer the more basic stuff upfront. These things can take them to SSNL faster than anything else.

this would be my preferred approach and any mod in the micro forum is going to want to standardize his answers very quickly.

I think it would be good as far as clear lines of separation and organization goes. This forum is very busy lately, so that would be good.

The downside I think is that it would further reduce the amount of quality advice given to the micro players as the more experienced ones would be less likely to engage in conversation there. Since those are the ones who need it the most, that would be bad.

I'm niether for nor against the split, but I do have a couple concerns.

First, the micros level will become the dumping ground of unwanted SSNL posts if it's not tended for.

Second, and this is related, the micros forum will need strong moderation and the cooperation of the mods from the other forums. (No, I''m not volunteering)

A couple observations. Some people have said in this thread that SSNL has a lot of traffic lately. In fact, in the entire time I was a mod SSNL was the single busiest strat forum on 2p2. It's not something new.

Finally I believe that many of the limit micros posters never get out of micros. Partly this is becasue there is a strong sense of community in micros, but frankly I also think there is a strong sense of rejection from the smal-stakers. I think that's bad, and I don't want to see that happen here.
