[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] its definately not a guaranteed loss. I'd say you're definately no worse than a 3:1 dog, assuming that you've got pretty significant edges in strength and conditioning. depending on your edge and his pudginess you could be as high as even money. [/ QUOTE ] No way. It doesnt matter how good OP's cardio is. He will never be able to pin the wrestler. He has no idea how to do it. He would have to train for an extremely long time to learn the technique to pin someone who knows how not to be pinned. But first he has to take the wrestler down or get a reversal....neither of which is going to happen if the wrestler is any good at all. That being said, the wrestler will pin the non-wrestler with no problem almost every time...depends on how good the wrestler is. From what it sounds like here, OP has very little chance. 3:1 is way off let alone even money. A more interesting prop bet would to put a time limit on how long it takes the wrestler to pin you. Otherwise, IMO the OP would just be throwing money away taking this bet. [/ QUOTE ]He could easily tire out his out of shape opponent and have his opponent basically submit and let himself be pinned. Don't underestimate just how tiring wrestling is. Someone who is out of shape will be tired in less than a minute and will be dying in 3 minutes. After 5 minutes he'll be beggint to quit. |

[ QUOTE ] Breakdown 5'10" 175 lbs lift 2-3 x week, including squats and deads cardio 2-3 x week Pretty strong dude. [/ QUOTE ] Dude you must be ripped. Wrestler owns you quick and it's not even close. Get good odds. J [/ QUOTE ] Its true. In high school I played soccer in the summer w/ a kid who was a wrestler. Bare in mind, this kid was an area (not state) champion and in solid shape. I was in far superior shape. I was stronger and had circa 60lbs on him. He demolished me time and time again. It was never even close. His knowledge of technique will embarrass you, end of story. |

[/ QUOTE ] 5 minutes and hell begin to quit? That is a rediculous statement. Wrestling matches in high school are 6 minutes. I know how tiring wrestling is....I wrestled all through high school and college. No wrestler is going to just let himself be pinned. Wrestlers have way too big of egos to do something like that. Never will a wrestler think "Oh [censored], Im tired....I think Ill roll over now." If the wrestler gets really exausted and somehow his opponent manages to get a reversal, the wrestler could basically lay flat on his stomach without using hardly any energy and the non-wrestler wont be able to roll him over. However, the wrestler will have the non-wrestler pinned before he gets anywhere near this point. Basically my point about the cardio in the other post is that even if somehow the wrestler gets so exausted that he cant pin the other guy, the other guy will not be able to pin the wrestler. |
