I think the reason they play a lot of hands in even raised pots is because everyone is so deep. In 200NL you can't play that loose because the max buy-in is 100 big blinds, but in HSP the min buy-in is 166 big blinds and there are also antes in play. Daniel bought in for 1666 big blinds last year.

The props are becoming very annoying and distracting. At one point I heard Kaplan saying that the producers need to start paying more attention to the props. It might help to at least know what they're talking about, but at the same time I get more enjoyment from seeing people gamble for huge $$$ when there is some skill involved rather than something that is total dumb luck. Ideally the players would just quit playing props during the show, but that's probably not going to happen.

Seems evident that Negreanu is tilting. His frustration at getting drawn out on is palpable. No one is bluffing at him (why would anyone try since he won't lay down his hand to any bet). But I also think at this point he is afraid someone will bluff at him and he will mistakenly fold the best hand.

How does Lindgren not raise the turn with quads? I think that's a much better way to get payed off from Daniel's range. It's also a better way to represent a bluff in my opinion.

What happened at the end there with Gabe Kaplan? Was he really pissed? I definitely heard him tell the other host to go [censored] himself. Was that for real or just bad acting?

[/ QUOTE ]

Is my sarcasm meter broken?
He "went on tilt" because AJ asked him what put him on tilt.

exactly. it was an act

I'm always amazed at the number of hands these guys play, especially in raised pots. It seems like they should just be bleeding chips off calling raised pots with 5-6 os. I know I play way too tight, but how can they not bleed off chips playing such a high percentage of hands. DN and Eli especially seem to do this.

[/ QUOTE ]

I was just thinking about that last night. Almost any raise under 10k or so, seems to be called by limpers. At this level, is there no difference in a “hand you want to see a cheap flop with” and a “hand worth calling a raise with”? I honestly can't remember seeing anyone ever limp and then fold to a 4x-6x raise.

[/ QUOTE ]

Calling the $2,000 raises with any playable hand like a connector is no big deal. It's just 3x the big blind and Doyle is playing very deep. Even somebody buying in for the minimum would have 50x the size of the pre-flop raise.

I'm pretty impressed with Lindgren's play.

Doyle and Texas proverbs are great.

Looking at David Grey's face is irritating, props are also annoying.

Not sure, but the way that he played it sure worked like a champ, as he doubled through!

just a question, I don't get HSP over here. Is Benza the same guy that got in a fight at the howard stern show?

I've handicapped several versions of the Kaplan-Benza fight.

In a boxing match (with gloves) Kaplan is 5-2. In an UF format, its pick-em and in a no-holds barred street fight, Benza 6-1. The under and over on each fight is 34 seconds. Get your bets down.

KFLOP-

Don't sell John short. He may look smaller than AJ, but he did beat the sh!t out of another radio personality that was literally 100 lbs heavier and more than 4 inches taller. He's a gritty fighter. I'd take anything over +100 on John for the max!!!!!!
