Wookie, in your honest opinion, what do you think are the various stages that a poker player goes through in their learning/playing experience? I'm really interested in what you have to say here. When did you get to the point when you thought to yourself 'I think I really do have a lot of clues when it comes to poker'.

your answer to my question (meaning of life) was pretty inadequate, so i'm going to press you on some of your other responses.
1. so you're a virgin? no oral sex or nothing? hand jobs? no masturbation????? you say this is a personal decision and that you are old-fashioned/antiquated. can you expand on this? is this tied up in religious dogma (the bible says no humping without a ring, so i don't hump), or are there other ethical/philosophical/sociological reasons for keeping it in your pants? 2. this is not a question: i'm very interested in john's question about reconciling faith and education. in your response, you say you think there is nothing to reconcile, but when you elaborate you produce a pretty good reconciliation -- one that i wish more christians and, frankly, more scientists would embrace. in _a brief history of time_, hawking talks about how the big bang does not preclude the existence of God or His creation of the universe; it merely puts some boundaries on *when* he could have done it. 3. i do not believe that Jesus Christ is my savior, nor that he is the sole way to reach god. i regularly practice sodomy[1], do drugs, exact my wrath on inanimate objects, and lust and covet all manner of people and things. in spite of all this, i think i am a decent human being. i am loyal and loving to friends and family, i help strangers when i am able, i don't lie or cheat, and i recycle. when i die, what will happen to me? [1] actually, very irregularly. but i would LIKE to practice it regularly.

What would it take for you to signup for a session review? Poker on TV kicked it into motion, and then an everyman winning huge for minimal investment got it really rolling. People love get rich quick schemes, especially when it's accomplished by something "everyone knows how to play." It's still going because not everyone has figured out that not everyone knows how to play. And lawmakers haven't killed it. Yet. --Wookie, in your honest opinion, what do you think are the various stages that a poker player goes through in their learning/playing experience? It's not stages, it's a progression, other than the sudden influx of knowledge that comes from reading your first book. After that, it's explaining nothing correctly on the board to explaining a few things correctly to explaining more things correctly to explaining most everything. You'll have some lightbulbs go off at various points, sure, but not everyone's light bulbs go off in the same order.
