What was the other hand you're talking about? Gus' 44 vs Eli's KQ on the 283A board? (if so, Gabe said nothing wrong there either).

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't remember but I have it Tivo'd and I'm going to go back and see.

I thought Gus betting pot on the river with JT and trips was an interesting move. I was thinking check/call, since there were missed draws. DN can't fold a better hand and probably folds worse. Then again, maybe Gus read him as tilting and thought the payoff wizard would strike again.

[/ QUOTE ]

On the JT hand does anyone think there was an amount that Gus could have bet that Danny would have folded to? I'm think NOT, because clearly he would have called anything less and perhaps if Gus bet more DN would have put him on a bluff -- plus he seems to be on tilt and doesn't seem capable of folding in this session (what was with his call of the $19k PF bet with his two rags -- oh, they were suited)?

[/ QUOTE ]

It would have made for some interesting TV if Gus had decided to toy with Dan and go all in on that hand. We may have witnessed some very funny back and forth as DN talked himself into calling, then folding, then calling, ad infinitum.

Barry looked like a stuck nit when he was asking Gus to come back to the table. Gus was ordering up some pussy, and Barry is all, "Can he please come back to the table?" I know it was a joke, but to me, it sounded like too authentic.

Daniel has never folded to a re-raise pre-flop in any of the HSP shows for any amount.

[/ QUOTE ]

Important to note, that's of the hands they have shown.

[/ QUOTE ]

I thought they showed ALL the hands?

Very wrong. They maybe show 1/10th of the hands.

I know, I caught that too. Sounded whiney on his part which shows me that he was getting a bit frustrated. He's usually a much quieter, cooler player.

I went back to watch it but couldn't find the mistake so either I dreamed it or I missed it. Ah well.

Clearly my recall isn't too good either, but I do remember him semi-miscalling another hand. He said something like "blah has Q4, I mean, QT, blah blah blah"

I'm almost 100% certain that he mispoke a 2nd time but it just isn't worth it to go back and look for it. I actually enjoy Gabe's commentary quite a bit more than any of the others. Sometimes he beats a joke to death - witness the shuffleboard jokes - but he also gets off some really funny ones and I also have to respect the fact that he is a good player who has proven himself over the years. He's not a superstar by any means but I'd be willing to bet that he is well ahead.

On previous threads the consensus (based on filming time, estimated hands/hour) was 30-40%.
