iverson and kirilenko can both score and posey is a good outside shooter. howard is fine in the paint. this lineup wouldn't really need to score though, they're going to outrebound their opponents 3-1 and rack up 15 steals a game.

AK47 is hardly a go-to scorer. This team has AI as its first and second options of offense, and I think we've seen how that's worked in real-life. Not too well.

Defensively, they are quite strong. Against normal NBA teams, they'd do well, but not as well as some of the other lineups in this thread. Against other five-man super teams, they'd get killed.

Billups
Artest (Assuming he doesn't go crazy) If he does which is highly probable I would take Wade.
AK-47
Brand
Duncan (Assuming he moves to centre)

Two questions are we incorporating age? Are we incorporating salary?

PG Chauncey Billups
SG Ray Allen
SF LeBron James
PF Kevin Garnett
C Ben Wallace

Coach: Phil Jackson

Bench: Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Bruce Bowen, Shawn Marion, Andrei Kirilenko, Tim Duncan, Brad Miller

I like Ray Allen as a shooter. I added Bruce Bowen just to have one dirty lockdown defender. I also like Miller as an offensive frontcourt guy. I put KG over Duncan just cause I like KG a lot, even though I think Duncan is clearly a better fit here.

1. Billups
2. Kobe
3. James
4. AK47
5. Duncan

Talent wise at the one I would take Wade but his lack of 3 point shooting wouldn't fit the team well. At the 1 you need somebody who can stand outside the 3 point line and hit open shots b/c of all the attention Kobe, James and Duncan will bring. Billups doesn't need to dominate the ball and may be the best defensive PG.

Kobe and Lebron are pretty obvious.

We have enough scoring on the team so I like Kirilenko at the 4. Maybe the best defensive player in the league, a very good passer, and can score moderately well.

Duncan, another obvious choice...

Yes, Kobe's clearly the most talented scorer in the NBA, but if your goal is to win games, I'm not at all certain putting Kobe onto that team would have made them 34-4 or better, and I think a good case can be made that they'd be more likely to be 32-6 or worse.

Now Andy, that's just crazy talk. Kobe did win a few games, you know, before he was on a team full of scrubs.

I seriously don't get how Garnett is being left off of so many teams

A. he's not a selfish ball hog, which is critical on these types of teams

B. he's no worse than the 3rd best player in the league

I like this assignment...

PG Steve Nash (I can't believe he has a DVD out where he "teaches" defense, but he is the single best way to improve every player on your team, he's that kind of a talent)

SG Tracy McGrady (I would pick Kobe, but McGrady doesn't carry the same baggage and doesn't have the ridiculous ego, plus T-Mac is still a go to player with a clutch jumper)

SF Ron Artest (time to find somebody to play defense on this team

PF Dirk Nowitzki (as a 2nd option, he'd be impossible to stop, he's capable of carrying the load when T-Mac is off his game)

C Joel Pryzbilla (Don't need a superstar, just a workhorse who will D his man up, grab rebounds and block a few shots, which is why I passed on Brad Miller, I already have enough offense need a better defender here)

Notables,
SG Ray Allen, couldn't go wrong with him either
PG Dwayne Wade, Flash is pretty super but the assignment didn't call for the best individual players
SF Lebron no way you can go wrong with him, just like Artest's D
PF Garnett, are you kidding me, guy is incredible, personally I don't think he'd work as well as the 2nd option though
C I already said Brad Miller but another consideration is Amare Stoudamire too. Neither one of them is an exceptional defender however
