Here's a couple responses from 2 different departments.
Particularly notice the one from VIP support. Looks like they are just going to ignore this one! Dear James Your calculations are not correct as a vast amount of people had already been placed in the money and were settled accordingly, which left a smaller pool to be distributed in relation to the chip count. All refunds have been made and are correct. Rasmus PartyPoker.com VIP Club Customer Care Dear James, Thank you for contacting us. An amount $301.89 HEY NEAT! I'm not happy, they're refunding me based in 252 players left, but I couldn't play between around 400 and 252 because their system didn't allow me to reconnect while some lucky souls left were allowed to keep playing (and stealing blinds like champs, blinds were 3-6k at the time), so I was being chipped away until they "decided" to cancel off the tournament at last. This is not a fair distribution, they should have done the distribution based at the point of the first problem, what a mess. I don't know what else to do.
[ QUOTE ] Dear sirio11, Due to unforeseen circumstances we were forced to cancel tournament "Sunday Million Guaranteed". At the time of cancellation, players were awarded prize money corresponding to the rank to be awarded to the next eliminated player. Following this 50% of the remaining prize pool has been divided equally and 50% has been divided based on the chip count of each remaining player. $2,856.61 have been added into your account as per the following statement: Tournament id: 780579 Name: Sunday Million Guaranteed Buy-In: $215 (Fee Included) Total Players to start: 5363 Players at the time of cancellation: 252 Level at the time of cancellation: 14 Limit: No Limits Total Chips in play: 26827300 Total Buy-in collected = $1,072,600.00 Prize Money already given = $245,196.36 Total prize pool = $1,072,600.00 - $245,196.36 = $827,403.64 Minimum prize pool award = $750.82 * 252 = $189,206.64 Prize pool to be divided equally = ($827,403.64 - $189,206.64) / 2 = $319,098.50 Prize pool to be divided based on chip count = ($827,403.64 - $189,206.64) / 2 = $319,098.50 When the tournament was called off, you were seated at 'Table 1284108' and you had 69320 tournament chips. Your share of the minimum prize pool award = $750.82 Your share in money equally divided = $319,098.50/252 = $1,266.26 Your share based on your chip count = $319,098.50 * (69320/26827300) = $824.53 Total money refunded = $2,856.61 We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you. Thank you for playing. Sincerely, PartyPoker.com Team [/ QUOTE ] |

I am very disappointed in PartyPoker. I have told them I am removing my money in $3K chunks until this is resolved equitably for 752 players. Made my first withdrawal immediately. I can play somewhere else. -Z |

I just sent them this mail:
_______ Hi, I’m sending this email to let you know that I’m not happy with this resolution. Your system didn’t allow me to play since there were about 400 players left. I just couldn’t log in, while many players were still left and some of them were playing and stealing my blinds (the blinds were pretty high at the time, like 3-6k). So, I lost a lot of chips and of course a good percentage of the money I should have received that went to some of the other guys who were “lucky” to keep playing. This problem was caused by Party and Party should take the burden and compensate adequately to all the players. I’m amazed Party even collected the fee ($15) from this tournament. I have been a loyal customer to Party but this is simply too much to ask. Why should I take the burden of the problem and lose some equity by a problem caused by your system? I find amazing Party is not losing a cent for all this mess and you’re even collecting the fees for the tournament. David Cossio (sirio11) _____ As you can check in their response, the prizes are based in a $,1072,600 pool. This is $200 * 5373 players. So they're even collecting the $15 fee per player. Just amazing. |
