WPEX (And others here) SAY you have to be in the pot to get the RB. But I'm not convinced this is the case. [/ QUOTE ] I asked support about this when I first started playing the site. They said that if 10 people are dealt into the hand and the rake is $3.00 then your RB would be $0.30. Did not matter if you contributed or not. |

Thanks to the standard overreacting of people, one of you pricks managed to get me banned. So apparently they are serious about fixing the problem. Unfortunately, I have never knowingly abused this bug and I think its complete [censored] that they would ban me when its obvious from my play that if I even unknowingly took a free blind it certainly wasn't any sort of premeditated move on my part. I've played over 6000 hands this week and time out all the time becasue of software lag, and its inevitable that some of those times I will be about to take the BB. Feel free to continue your witch hunt for cheaters, but next time try and determine if the person is delibrately cheating or if maybe if was just dumb luck. [/ QUOTE ] Ouch. Do you have your HH's saved so that you can present some sort of defense? It would seem someone who plays alot at WPEX could easily accidently activate the bug at least a few times a week (probably without even realizing it). It makes me wonder how well they investigated this before they dropped the hammer...disappointing (unless you are a hardcore abuser/cheater but I doubt that...alot). Keep us posted on what happens. J [/ QUOTE ] I called them and was reactivated without too much problem but was told that I would be watched closely and if they saw it again, I would be banned permanently. I'll admit that I've certainly noticed that sometimes I don't have to post after missing hands, but most of the time I think its becasue I missed my button or timed out in the SB or something. The fact is this probably happened 10-15 times total over the 20K+ hands I've played on the site, so I was certainly not doing it as a deliberate attempt to avoid paying the blinds. I've posted nearly 30K in blinds during that time, but obviously if you happen to skip on $30 worth of blinds while some tinfoil hat wearing McCarthyist from this thread happens to be at the table then BAM thats it. I was actually in the middle of multiple hands when I was just cut off from the server (had a flush and 2-pair dunno how they turned out) and greeted with a pop-up saying that the server would not accept my connection and to contact support. Ironicaly enough of my 3 tables, one was HU and another was 4-handed at the time which doesn't exactly seem like the place a blind skipper would be hanging out. Edit: They claimed that after I was reported they watched my play and saw it happen, but I don't know if they just looked at reported HHs or did anythign more thorough. |

Well, I would blame WPEX for not investigating more closely before taking action on your account.
And I'm glad they are taking such actions about this. As you pointed out, playing on the 5-max tables, or on a completely full 10-handed table, means that other players can't do this. Of course, the 10-handed table might get down to 8 or 9-handed at some point allowing someone to sneak in there. But now that we have publicity on here that WPEX is locking accounts of those who are reported I don't think this is going to be much of a problem for long (and then they supposedly will get the glitch fixed anyway). In other news - like many others here, I can't believe I didn't notice this myself. But I've played some of the 5-max tables. And I also remember some of my 10-handed tables being completely full for fairly long stretches. But I also played some 6-8 handed on there and I'm sure there were some players jumping in and out that I just never noticed. |

I completely missed it myself...
I will be more mindful now. Thanks to those that discovered this and, instead of abusing it, reported it so that it could get corrected. Very much appreciated for those of us who just want a square game. |

Not having noticed it I really wonder how much the abusers were able to take advantage of this situation in the games I was playing.
I think back on all those 6-8 handed games I was sitting in where I know there were some players leaving and joining the game at different times (some doing so legitimately of course, but others HAD to be on 'blind-dodging abuse' mode). |

Actually now that I think about. I think I understand what they were seeing and why they took action against me. Apparently the bug involves toggling the sitout box somehow, so they probaly look for the tell-tale "player sits out/player is back" lines. Unfortunately for me, I do this anytime I notice myself get timed out to prevent being auto-sat out next hand (works on party anyway). So any suspicious actions by me, would indeed have the "sit out/back" HH lines.
Basically in my defense you woudl see this anytime i get sat out, even from MP where I am obviously not trying to bug the blinds. |

The occurrence of players sitting out and leaving or entering seemed somewhat higher than on other sites although I did not give it much thought at the time. |
