This thread needs the one person on the forum who has dealt the big game (at least that I'm aware of).

2/5 NL at the Wynn

I pull in a nice pot of 18 dollars ( 5 of which is mine)
I dont tip the dealer
Suddenly my cards are not even being dealt close to me
Idiots like this give good dealers a bad name

While I guess I can't condone the dealer not doing his job, I also can't really condone you bitching about it after not tipping.

"I deal much faster when I am getting tipped generously and muuuuuuchhhhhh slower when everyone at the table is stiffing me. Like in 75-150, I just pretend like it's my first day."

This is extremely unprofessional. Of course it's going to happen subtly, but that you intentionally partake in slowing down games and both brag about it and feel good about yourself for it is pathetic. In fact, revelation of attitudes like this would cause me to tip dealers less. Pretty much any dealer that exhibits unprofessional behavior gets on my no tips list.

Yeah, not sure about most dealers but I like it hella lots when people throw me redbirds, or anything more than a buck actually.

you really think dealers would start cheating pots to add to the rake? it seems it would be in the best interest for the casinos to make sure the rake is honest to avoid pissing off players. dont you think casinos would prevent dealers from doing this?

[/ QUOTE ]

I have seen dealers double and triple rake pots when there are all stiffs at the table and they don't even get any of the rake.

I know of three people on this forum that have dealt THE big game in Vegas and I know a cople others that have dealt in when it visited other markets. I have never dealt THE big game, but I have dealt or supervised bigs games and have encounterd most of the big game reglars playing very high stakes.

Tstone, I like your posts but something really confuses me in this one.

You say:
[ QUOTE ]
many dealers make $30/hr+ and i dont believe they should be entitled to make that much for a service job

[/ QUOTE ]

But then go on to say in the same post:
[ QUOTE ]
again i really understand that dealers need to make money and i think they should make the most as possible, but its us that pays their salaries. us saying that we want dealers to make less money per hour is like an employer trying to pay his employees less.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just thought it was a little contradictory.

Btw, these threads never result in anything but a pissing contest as I see this one has become. The flaming should start soon too

Yea not tipping a mediocre at best dealer on a nothing pot should cause him to act unprofessionally. I guess if someone tossed him a redbird on a 5k pot he would deal their cards on the floor.

Can someone define a "redbird" please? Sounds like a poker chip, but for how much? thanks in advance.
