reminds me of that thread/story some dude posted about how x amount of pros are broke, how they have backers...how their backers have backers...how ugly the end of a tourney can be (winner owes so many ppl that many ppl often fight over who gets his winnings because his winnings don't cover his debts/loans). an interesting point, unfortunately none of us can confirm this.

Sadly most of all, it reflects our world as a whole.
I am still at times hoping this is all a nightmare and I am going to wake up from it. EGOs once inflated, seems to take death or poor health to deflate. I think I'd laugh back at the 'pros' who blamed me for their bad results if I was dealing to them. >T< |

[ QUOTE ]
I don't tip at all. If i was to constantly tip the dealer I would probably be shelling out $500-$1,000 a year in tips. I'd rather have that $1,000 in my pocket instead of the dealers. Anyone else feel this way? [/ QUOTE ] From the nature and tone of many of the responses to you're question, it seems safe to assume that most people who felt the same way would not post it as so. I suggest an anonymous poll to garner a more accurate tally. Personally, I don't feel the same way about it as you do. I can make or lose $500-1000 playing poker in a few hours sometimes, so spreading out some joy for a whole year and keeping everybody around me happy for that same amount seems worth it to me. |

Now I don't tip at all. My thinking is Why should I constantly tip a dealer all night long? Anyone else feel this way? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, as evidenced partway through the thread entitled Poker Room Tip Calculator |

Seriously dude, WTF is with your incessant need to revive year-old threads? [/ QUOTE ] The discussion is still timely and relevant. Obviously many many others agree--tipping is one of the most popular and recurring topics in this forum. Is year old discussion/information null/void/incorrect or inferior by some definition? Have casino operations and dealer functions substantially changed in that time? Is is wise to shun tradition? Are we lessened or made greater by understanding the mindset of those who came before us? Do you entertain some predjudice against those who came before you? Is not he who ignores the lessons of the past destined to repeat the same mistakes in the future? As we near the 230th Birthday of the greatest nation on the planet, it is a good time to reflect on the vision of those pioneers who came to America with little more than a hope and a dream of a better way of life, and who forged that vision on the anvil of freedom and justice for all. Is what they did 230 times less relavant than what we here have done a mere year ago? Rather than shun the past, whould we not seek to know and cherish it? Would we not all be better if we knew the tipping philosophy of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin? |

Homeless bum, Mike Tullis, in the movie Poker Bustouts feels the same way. He recommends never tipping them, but then again...

I hate that Tom is cluttering up the forum with old topics, but I must say that this is some of the finest bullshiat I have ever seen. |
