I actually like the cover. The green makes sense because it represents the table felt and the extra cash we'll all soon be making. Also, the chips look cool and we get a new picture of David Sklansky. What's not to love?

The only problem I have is not knowing if the phantom hand holds AKs or AKo. Wtf?

$30 books are not part of the impulse buy market.

It's ok. The pic is great, the font, well... just my opinnion, but there are thousands of other opinnions. I like blue, but my car isn't blue. Don't take it too seriously, it's fine imo.

3-D chips look great anyway, especially if the cover will be darker in reality. It will sell too many thousands, so I would just like to hurt its sales.

Oh, FWIW, I like the cover. I like how the 2+2 covers are pretty consistent. I think the only thing that bugs me is the text overlaying the chips on the back.

having worked at a bookstore...over 3/4 of purchases were not predetermined. Customers go for the book that catches their eye, especially for gift giving.

Honestly, the cover is ugly as ass. But I'll still get the book because it's the content I'm looking forward to.

I DO LIKE the idea of having the 2+2 logo on the poker chips (although it obviously appears to be either added after the fact or possibly a cheap sticker)

[/ QUOTE ]

they were added after the photos were taken. in addition, the mold of the chip was rubbed clean, to remove all signs of them being paulsons.

it makes them look generic, imo. in addition to the font problems, the weird hand, and the freaky back cover (especially the text overlapping the photos), it's a 3/10.

tis a shame. it looked great when it won the cover contest.

Hi Turn:

That's great to hear, but it's also not our market. We've been publishing for almost 20 years and we do know what our market is.

best wishes,
Mason

Hey geniuses, maybe if the book doesn't look appealing the fish wont be fish and buy it because of the cover.

Best design ever.

[/ QUOTE ]

Heh. That was my first thought: "Hey, at least it won't be an impulse buy for the fish."

Ed & Co., don't take the cover design criticism too seriosuly. I think the book is going to be awesome and it is way more important to me that the content is good. Its just too easy to rip on the cover art though.
