Hansen Spikes a Miracle 10 to Stay Alive
Tournament chip leader Tuan Lam just took a major hit, courtesy of a bad beat put on him by Gus Hansen. Tuan made it 50,000 before the flop from the cutoff and Gus reraised, making it to go 148,000 from the big blind. Lam then moved all-in, which put Gus to a decision for the rest of his chips and he made the call, revealing pocket 10's; Tuan had him in bad shape with pocket Queens. The flop came (Kc)(10s)(8h), and Gus covered his mouth with both hands in disbelief. The turn and river blanked out, doubling Gus up to 1,406,000 in chips. "I have to admit . . . that's sick," Gus said after raking in the pot. Tuan was left with a respectable 1,880,000 after the hand. Gus has been up and down like a yo-yo. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] It's still relatively early, but given the amount of notables left and their chip position, we could possibly have an actual decent final. [/ QUOTE ] same thing happened last year then a bunch of notable busted in the 25-50 range [/ QUOTE ] Well... Weikai Chang, Kevin O'Donnell, Prahlad, Lisandro, and William Thorsson are the only guys I would consider notables that finished top 50 last year(not including final). Probably a couple of internet guys I missed. Amount of notables/pros/names this year compared to last year at this same point is not even close. [/ QUOTE ] Allan Cunningham, Annie Duke, Humberto, Thomas Wahlroos, Rizen, Bryan Micon were all around at this time last year also. |

When the player in the cutoff position raised to 50K, Peter Feldman moved all-in from the button for about 160K. The player in the small blind called, and the initial raiser dropped out. Feldman turned over pocket queens and the small blind had pocket nines. The board came A-K-K-T-6 and Feldman more than doubled up to over 400K. The initial raiser claimed to have folded ace-king! Billy Baxter got his last chips in with K Q but found himself up against A A . Needing some serious help, none came with the 2 6 J 3 2 board and Baxter was knocked out. 135 players remain. There is one hour and twenty minutes to be played yet this evening. The average stack is 941K [/ QUOTE ] lol initial raiser was getting over 3:1 and would be in position for side pot god damn people are so bad |

No, I am still thinking it's more likely bad than good but...
Rich Murnick is at 850K. Isaac Haxton called a 100K bet on the turn with a board of A-J-3-Q with three spades. The river was another ace and his opponent checked. Haxton bet 175K and after a few moments of contemplation his opponent folded. "I feel like showing a bluff this time," Haxton said and revealed T-9 of clubs to his opponent. Haxton was up to about 1.2 million after that hand. Alexander Kravchenko Alexander Kravchenko won a bracelet earlier this year in Omaha Hi-Lo beating out pokerpages.com's Bryan Devonshire for the title. For most of the Main Event Kravchenko has been hovering in the bottom half of the field but has never been in danger of being eliminated. As I talked about earlier all it takes is two or three hands and your fortunes can change. This is the story of Alexander Kravchenko's tournament. He hit a nut flush on the river when Tom Peterson had two pair. He bet a whopping 750K on the river (almost all that he had) and Peterson called. After the hand Kravchenko was up to 2.3 million. |
