Do we have a list of moves to vote on?

Qd5
Re4
Rc6 (nobody has suggested Re6?)
Qd7 (not fond of this one but, it's been mentioned a few times)

Anyone think a "knight move" is called for? A little Bob Seger Maneuver?
What else could be missing?

I think we need a bit more analysis before we can vote.

OK let's look at the direct approach:

19...Qd5+ 20.Kg1 Ng4 21.Bf4

And now:

21...g5 22.Qd1 Nxh2 23.Kxh2 gxf4 24.Qxg4+ is good for White
21...Qh5 22.h4 Nf6 23.Rae1 Nd5 24.Bd2 and White seems good here too.
21...Re4 22.Rac1 Rd8 23.Rfd1 and again we aren't really getting anywhere.

20...Ng4 doesn't seem to be working.

-----

19...Qd5+ 20.Kg1 Nd7 is an interesting idea since it also threatens ...Ne5-f3 winning.

21.Bf4 g5 now wins outright.
21.f3 seems risky for him.
21.Rd1 Nc5 is possible (22.dxc5 Re1+)

What happens if 22.Qc4; do we get to continue to develop an attack from there? I'm not seeing one so far.

19... Qd7, ... Rc6, or ...Qd5 are all reasonable moves and it's hard to decide which one is best. 19...Qd5+ gains a tempo and prepares a possible ...Ng4 (or ...Nd7)followed by Ne5, invading on the f3 square. 19...Qd7 prepares the tricky Re5- h5 to soften the white kingside (after h4). 19... Rc6 is flexible and gives the rook lateral power and the ability to double rooks. I am not sure which gives black the most lasting, long term initiative.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think Rc6 is the most flexible, allowing us to stack rooks on the c-file as well as switch over to the h-file if need be after a later Nd5. Also, if we later decide on Re4, we can play Rce6 and double on that file depending on how Greg defends.
The Queen is not the piece to blockade his passed pawn. From b6 it attacks his K-side, defends our b pawn and pressures his Queenside.

E4 is prime piece of real estate. With Qd5, we can get Ne4 with stackage on the C-File. Remember, Ne4, not Nd5.

And TimM owned me and is correct. Rc6 looks fine, but we do need to play Qd5 eventually.

White has no white squared B, where black has a N. It seems natural to move Qd5 from the point of view of taking over the white squares. Wasn't that the main point of the clearing sac at d4?

If you like the idea of getting a rook to the h-file, playing Rc5 now will get it there faster than Rc6.
Since you like Rc6, you may want to consider that option too...
