[ QUOTE ]
i'm a tony larussa fan, but even i think that he went nuts on the arroyo/lefty thing tonight [/ QUOTE ] I have no real problem with this considering they have a pretty good left handed hitting outfielder in the bench in Rodriguez. [ QUOTE ] i'm even ok with timo coming in, but the 5 spot? come on. [/ QUOTE ] In my opinion he had a couple options if he absolutely had to play Perez. He could either hit Perez second and move Duncan into the five hole. Or he could move Encarnacion and Miles up in the order to 5 and 6 respectively and hit Perez 7. [ QUOTE ] pulling belliard the night after he finally hits stride in a cards uniform strikes me as especially horrible. [/ QUOTE ] This was just flat out retarded. |

jrod isn't on the 25-man roster right now. a lot of people questioned why he wasn't a starter, it was a really common topic on st louis baseball radio. that was a "tony knows something" situation, and it seemed to be right. i'm not talking about the ankle injury, i think he looked less "wow" with each at-bat. still a fine player, but he doesn't seem like the starter everyone saw before, and nobody really talks about it anymore.
i would have put duncan in the 5 if given those 9 guys tonight. sucks that spiezio wasn't available. left is his best side, and he's been showing some reliability in his offense lately. |

less than 10 days ago... it was just a circumstance thing where we needed to option somebody to make room for a relief pitcher. he'll be back in this month.

good game, good start by weaver. this is the sort of game i'd expect with 2 division contenders, not like the last two games.
with edmonds out we could be looking at some interesting outfield lineups with duncan, encarnacion, and rodriguez. pretty green defensively, although encarnacion has been looking comfortable. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, Duncan can look pretty awkward at times when the ball is hit to him. He can hit though, so I can live with it. |

Weaver pwns Ponson
Even when Ponson would win, he failed to eat up innings |

i'm pleased as punch that i don't have to watch some greasy fat dude lick his palms all game. when weaver outperforms him it's a nice bonus.

I feel sorry for anyone who has to have Jeff Weaver on their rotation
