i'm the matusow of casino whoring. everyone else seems to get some upswings but i only get downswings and a few breakeven stretches. it's hard to survive betting 21K without losing 2 grand if you never have an upswing.

[/ QUOTE ]

I know how you feel. I've had rude downswings before as well. I've busted out of 6 casinos in a row and had swings so violent i swore the site was rigged. But in the long run, the upswings counter it.

yeah sorry i forgot to include the expected loss while clearing this bonus so it's more like 2.5 SDs. so that's unlucky but not in a ridiculous sense.

watching myself slowly and consistantly lose hundreds of dollars is pretty sickening.

Here's a message not directed at only pyedog, but everyone in a similar situation. You are NOT suited for online bonus whoring if you cannot stand the risk that you will bust out from any given casino. People here bust out everyday and they don't constantly whine about it. I don't want to sound like a dick, but this is all part of the bonus whoring game. If you can't deal with it, you shouldn't be here.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is exactly why I deposited for the $1100 bet but wouldn't redeposit for this bonus. I was thinking about it all day but I couldn't live with myself if I lost my $1050 I already took from masion.

Weather or not you took the pittsburg bet you gambled on this bonus, +EV or not. Some will finish way above some way below. Welcome to casino bonuses, which are nothing at all like the risk free wager manson offered on the game.

Or at least move down to where a loss won't make you cry. I'm surprised so many people with minimal rolls are doing this bonus when they could lose their whole stack in one blow. +$550 EV does not mean it's guaranteed by any means. I posted the SD way back in the early part of this thread, so it was clear that the swings could be tremendous.

[/ QUOTE ]
I'm guessing that for some people, this was their first sports bet and their first casino bonus experience. So this was an eye opener to what kind of swings you can go through.

I doubt anyone complaining about the variance has ever had a bad run at Pontoon.

Ive run so bad in BJ. I once went 24+ hands w/o a win followed by 3 dealer BJs in a row.

I understand your post, but your logic is flawed. If you have a sufficient bankroll, it would be stupid to pass up a bonus with an EV of $540. If you only like things that are risk free, however, then I suppose your move was logical.

You have to view this bonus independent of the Steelers promo. It would like saying "I don't want to whore Golden Palace casino because I'm afraid I'll lose money I won from Mansion." Money is money, regardless of where it came from. Bottom line is, you expect to make ~$540 on the bonus. That, your risk tolerance, and your bankroll should be the only relevant decision criteria.

Only 123.65 remaining and I'm down from $2,110 to $1,612. Will have to deal with this later but I'm really hoping they don't try to screw with those of us who haven't cashed out. Can't see how they really would but ...

[/ QUOTE ]

You should finish this up now before they pull the whole thing. Do bacarrat for the remainder. It's still +EV. Don't use an auto-clicker.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah ... I'm really nervous about that. Have family over and since it will take me a couple minutes to actually learn how to play baccarat, I haven't been able to finish off that last measly $123. While it definitely won't kill my BR, losing the $500 would really not be good after I told the wife I was taking out the grand for bills.

What would you consider a proper BR for this bonus. Not that it matters but I would be intreasted to know.

If taking a $500 loss after the bonus is credited won't make you vomit or search for a loaded shotgun, then you probably have a proper BR.
