Ok and how about next he starts labeling bad players as "donkeys". Is that okay too?

[/ QUOTE ]

Are you trying to imply that a donkey is in the same league as a cheater? Honestly, just give it up now before the flames get too high.

And you are abusing your power by doing what you did.

So labeling a cheater as a cheater is somehow an abuse of power? Yeah OK....

ZJ,

I just want to point out one thing from your post to everyone here, just in case they missed it the first time:

I have been at the same table as myself. ... I realize my standard play should have been to sit one account out when this happens [but I didn't]

[/ QUOTE ]
El D,

While this is better than playing both accounts, it still gives the cheater an unfair advantage. For one, he has knowledge of what hole cards the second account folded.

[/ QUOTE ]

Obviously you have to put tape on the screen wherever the sitting out account is.

[/ QUOTE ]

You're joking about this, right?

[/ QUOTE ]

yes of course!!!

Of course Gigabet has multi accounts, way too much +ev not to. Imagine having two or three players in a step 5 higher? Or 1o horses in a big MTT. You people have no idea the cheating that goes on.
I ran a poker game for a few months, and just listening to these high school kids talk about schemes they were running was very interesting.

I agree with Curtains. As a mod, stick to regulating the forums, not making fun of posters through modifying their accounts

Only if it has been confirmed to be true.

just to set the record straight i changed his title. I don't think it's wrong in the least, it's meant to be funny, and it is funny. Anyone that disagrees doesn't really have a sense of humor imo.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's wrong. You are a moderator.

[/ QUOTE ]

And as such is his duty to label the cheaters.

[/ QUOTE ]

His duty is not to decide what he thinks is cheating and then label the cheaters. Yes what was done was cheating in the opinion of the majority of the forum, including myself. However there are other types of less obvious cheating, where maybe only 30% of people would agree that its cheating. Do I think a moderator should be able to just label whomever they want as cheaters at any time? No I don't.

Moderators should be held to the highest standards. It's not their job to do something "funny" at the expense of someone else, whether they feel that person deserves it or not.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think there could be potential grey areas and in those areas I agree discretion is the better part of valor, but you cant possibly think this can be misconstrued by anyone as a grey area?

You're right, but this situation calls for a loosening of the collar.

I highly doubt that he is going to start labeling me donkey, although he could and I wouldn't disagree.

All,

I think we all should be looking at the bigger picture here. There have been 2 high profile players that have have been shut down by Party in the past 2 weeks. While that is a big step in the right direction, I'm sure they haven't discovered more than 1/4% of people who are doing the exact same thing. What bothers me the most about the entire situation, is that Party has only acted after an email has been sent accusing the lowlife cheaters (in this case, JJ and ZJ) of doing what they were doing. Certainly, Party Poker must know that this is happening. They obviously have the equipment to see if multiple accounts are playing from the same computer, so on and so forth. To act only once someone has picked up on it is disgusting and shameful on Party's part.
