I run ~17/12 average, but I also have a relatively small sample. Also, I've only played about 3k hands on PS (for $200 in bonii), the rest is on FTP, so that's why you don't have any hands on me.

As you play more hands, your expected deviation from your expectation is going to go up $ wise BUT also as you play more hands your $ earned is going to continuously get larger in proportion to your SD.

100,000 hands is definitely a drop in the bucket and 1,000,000 hands you can still be +/- quite a bit from your expectation.

I recommend we all play 10,000,000 hands before considering winrates, etc. from now on.

How small?

IIRC it doesn't really take too much to determine SD. It takes much, much more to determine WR.

Sounds like a June iron man challenge to me. 450k hands/day, here I come.

No, not wtSD, we are looking at SD- standard deviation.

Found in the session notes tab- more detail.

Hopefully MTTR can answer this one. But anybody feel free to chime in.

There was a stink a while back in one of the forums where a poster pointed out that Pokertracker actually counts the SD wrong. Do you remember where that was or if it ever got resolved?

[/ QUOTE ]

from what I recall,
pt calculates standard deviation by looking at the standard deviation per session

it will understate the deviation for those that play longer session and overstate it for those that play shorter ones

I haven't looked into it for awhile, but I think that is what happens.

[/ QUOTE ]
This is correct
