All,

I talked with unterfish by PM. He's going to take a week or so off from posting, and he says he'll settle down.

Dr Modern,

You're welcome to evaluate my posting. I trust that you understand that your fate is the same as what you advise for me.

Fret,

I understood that the Austrians had their own accent, but it's not such a crazy version of the language as what the Swiss did to German.

Wook is right. And please, I'm German.
And I'm off.

Anyone going to be in Vegas next Wednesday night? I've got an interview at Nevada State College and they are housing me at the Sunset Station. The webpage says they've got a poker room there, and I'll be in the mood for some low limit donking (whatever they have, I'll play). My interview starts at 8:30 Thursday morning and so I won't be playing late or going out that night (sleep is more +EV for me).

[/ QUOTE ]

i'll be around and would love to meet up with you aaron. next Wednesday marks the return of Lost, however, so that affects my availability.

Sunset Station spreads primarily 3/6/9, a game i have never played because the structure drives me bananas. They also sometimes have 4/8 (which a floor once referred to as "the high stakes game"(!) even though the big bet is less than the biggest big bet in the 3/6/9 game) and maybe a table of Omaha. Also, i once turned down $100 to dump a cup of water on William Hung's head when he was playing there.

Good luck on the interview. I think Vegas is not a great place to live, but YMMV. I am happy to hold forth on this topic if it is helpful.

Don't forget to order your official Micros NC Thread T-Shirt until we run out of stock. Tell your better half that this is what you want for Valentine's Day. Kick and scream until you get it. Proudly wear it to B&M poker rooms and let those sunglassed-and-hooded-WPT-wannabes-with-headphones-bigger-than-their-heads
immediately go on tilt and die of jealousy when they see you sporting this:

PS: Also available in green, pink and navy blue.

What's the 3/6/9 structure? 3 preflop, 6 flop, 9 turn/river? That would be fun (lots and lots of limping around because big bets are 3x instead of just 2x).

At this time, I'm keeping all of my options open. I've got another campus interview in Redding (Simpson University) the following week, and I'm just going to wade through the process and see what pops out on the other end.

I will say that poker only provides a small weight when it comes to the factors that will matter.

2/4 is teh suck!

After a few hands @ 5/10 I thought I'd drop down for a bit of fun, & ended up chasing my losses for the past 2 & a half hrs. Phew I'm glad that's over!

oh dear wookie and miles, do I lack beer sophistication?

The liquor store near me burned down over the summer, and my previous love of beer has turned into a forced love as far as drinking. Why do I dislike nearly all IPA's I taste? So far Smuttynose IPA, and I'm pretty sure Bluepoint's Hoptical illusion.

Maybe I should try more. For now, gonna give some belgian ales a go, so far the leffe blond ale was delicious, gonna give hoegarden a try.

I still keep Brooklyn Brewery Brown ales/Pennant Ales/Lagers in my fridge on reserve. This will not change for a while.

Lost is my favourite show and ty to the powers of the internet that allow me to download it just hours after teh US release despite aust TV who wont show it for months after u guys get it.

there are so many questions on that show
- are they all mental? is it all in hurleys head?
- was Ben really at the airport?
- WHAT is the monster? (producers have said that everything can be explained by science but I just dont get the monster....what version of [censored] science apart from freakin nanobots - which is a lame answer btw - can form a smoke that woops eckos ass? (I fail to see how they can logically explain the monster..... Im sure they can but anything is possible with that show)
- the 4 toed statue.....so reminds me of planet of the apes, wtf?
- juliet, good or nasty nasty mega-biatch?
- hurleys psychologist hookup was in the nuthouse? huh?

I wonder if we will ever get all our questions answered...I will feel so empty if we dont get answers

I cant wait for the ep 7 to show and they better damn well follow thru and show the rest of the season without a break....
