To more serious crimes like sticking your dick in another dude. [/ QUOTE ] I think being a House rep. is the gateway crime for this. |

Someone who knows politics.. Is it still possible that the bill gets changed and that the poker sections could get removed? [/ QUOTE ] Possible but about as likely as me [censored] Heidi Klum tonight. Edit: In the ass without first telling her my name. |

[ QUOTE ]
He's still a [censored] toolshed. If he's so dumb that he thinks robbing a bank is a good solution to his gambling problem he was going to [censored] up at some point. [/ QUOTE ] Gambling its self is not the fundamental issue. It comes down to a persons moral standard and philosophy for life. Many of us are professional poker players, namely we gamble day in and day out. We are not addicted to it, we are not compulsive gamblers destroying our lives, we are more like businessmen playing a game of skill. Even in the case of a person who's just a recreational blackjack/craps/slots player, its still not the gambling thats at the root of the cause. Some people can gamble recreationally without becoming addicted or spending their life savings. Also people do not need to rob a bank after they ruin their lives getting addicted to gambling, thats a choice made after the fact. While gambling is not the root, fundamental problem it can definately serve as a catalyst or a feeder for the instability of certain types of people. It has it's roll to play, but it's not a fundamental one. People also really have to take responsibility for themselves and their actions. They can't just pawn off their mistakes on drug abuse/gambling addictions/whatever as if they had no control. |

Is this bill for real? Scan all cargo for radiation at our 22 busiest ports within a year? That's just damn ridiculous and really unreasonable. It'll [censored] with our economy something fierce since we're addicted to imports.

Sorry if this has been covered/ is the wrong thread, but there's a crapload of stuff being written and it's really hard to sift through it all:
When this passes, how quickly will the law be officially enacted? I heard 270 days. |

[ QUOTE ]
We may see Neteller and Firepay try to lobby non-gambling merchants like Ebay and Amazon to accept customer payments from Neteller. Basically this gives them cover ("We're just another Paypal") for their main business. Kind of like the porn shops in Times Square stock a certain percentage on non-porn items in order to comply with city regulations. [/ QUOTE ] I doubt ebay would go for it considering they wanted this law to happen. |
