if you're down 42BI's in a week I think you need to learn pot control or nit it up b/c obv you can't handle playing your current style (whatever that may be)

fg,

Kil asked what makes you think you don't suck at poker.

you gave a bunch of playing-the-hands answers.

There's more to poker than playing the cards.

You really suck at the mental part of the game.

You allegedly suck at table selection.

You allegedly play more tables than you can handle.

You can play the cards great; but, if you lack in some of the other aspects of the game, you're not a good player.

Ed,

Don't take chest pains lightly, especially if they start recurring. Sure the first time it's probably gas. but after that see a doctor.

SSNL needs to see you in Vegas bro!

post some of those hands?

[/ QUOTE ]

please don't post those hands.

Yeah, suckouts happen. I'm having a very bad run myself. Worst I've ever had in my career actually.

However, yeah there's more to playing poker than cards. Emotionally self control is a hugggeee part of playing professional.
If I'm tired, been drinking, upset or hungry I don't play my normal limits. I drop down at least one level.
Not going on tilt when you take a huge hit or multiple hits. Or knowing when to logoff when you need to.
Playing LESS tables than you can handle. I know you can maybe keep up with 10-12 games at once, but your winrate will triple playing half that.

Avoiding good players. Chasing bad ones.

Dropping down when running bad.

Keeping your poker life seperate from your real life.

I'm sure you've heard all this crap before, but I'm pretty sure that's where you're going wrong.
If you're winning big enough, you can have 5 sets cracked in a day and still be ahead a decent amount.

stop whining about how bad you run. Very few, IF ANY, care.

aj,

Kinda agree but if you really do get allin with the best hand 90% of the time in big pots, then who cares about the rest of that.... You'll be a winning player, and lets face it - poker is about the money.

But yeah, if you work on the mental/game selection/whatever you can increasse your profit, but i'd argue getting it in good 90% is easy the most important thing IF thats really happening.

as an aside, i dont think fgators is a bad player, but i do think he perceives himself incorrectly.
