Rumsfeld is roundly hated in the military because of ignoring the input of the military. Going in without a real plan should either any difficulties arise or should the initial battles end is the opposite of efficiency.

Rumsfeld was a businessman, not a military man. He simply doesn't understand running the military, much less running a captured country. The man was very, very far out of his depth, and was justly criticized for being so before the war even started. The man was an egotist who brooked no dissent nor any qualified input, not a tough leader. This war was run from the White House by non-soldiers, not by the military, and it shows every inch.

And um... Hillary has nothing to do with this.

Also, there is no such thing as anti-Republican media. The republicans overwhelmingly own the media.

There are good Republicans and bad ones, but Rumsfeld's been a huge stinker from the very start. He's going to go down in history as a blunderer of classic proportions, and rightly so. It's only a shame it took this long, and this many lives on both sides, for that to matter.

Anyway, after all this, I actually apologize for helping turn this into a political thread. Usually I avoid such things, but I guess I'm bored today.

Agreed on the voice, even agree in large part on the unlistenable sometimes, but not on the melody part.

Well, i've clearly done a good job of posting an unpopular opinion [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I started to respond to both you and max raker, and realised that it wasn't just that I was maintaining the discussion in this thread, but was starting multiple discussions of the same topic in an inappropriate thread, in the inappropriate forum. I have listed my replies to you and max raker in a new thread in the political forum.


I have a feeling that my opinion that this discussion does not belong here, is in fact a popular one.
