Fellas, I just got back from The Isle (formerly Pompano Park) and got a look at their poker room.
In a word, WOW!! It's extremely sophisticated, complete with tons and tons of TVs, a full-size staff desk at the front (and I believe a video waitlist system) and very open, spacy and clean. HUGE cashier window, too. Frankly, this room makes the limits they will spread disgraceful. It's too good for $5 max bets and NL$100. It looks like the Hard Rock room, but with much less noise/smoky old people and with more giant TVs making up the walls. I used to think Dania had the classiest room in town. It's over. The Isle's got it. MOREOVER, I chewed the ear off of a young lady at the desk who was able to answer my questions ... The room will be open with new limits on 7/1, likely at Noon. They will spread 1-5, 2/4, 3/5 (??) and 5/5 games with NL$100. It seemed like they will play any game so long as there's demand for it. As for tournaments, the host said they are planning an extensive array of tourneys as the "have more freedom to do what we want." When I expressed an interest in having better structures, she said it's already in the works. Also, they will post news on their web site. See you there July 1. Will start a thread in B&M next week organizing meetups. |

I have visited most of the cardrooms in Broward county. Only the Seminoles are not sure what they will spread on July 1st.
Dania, The Isle, and Gulfstream all plan to spread 2/4, 5 straight, and 1/2 100NL and will offer higher stakes tournaments beginning July 1 based on what the players want. Gulfstream Park plans $65, $100, $250 and $500 sit and go's. They will also adjust the hours to a 2 pm to 2 am schedule. Flagler in Miami has their new rules and hours posted on their website. Does anyone have more information on the Seminoles or Mardi Gras (Hollywood Greyhound)? |

changing to 2p-2a is pretty cool too.
All this sounds pretty damn promising to me. Hoping the rooms up north near Panama City and Tallahassee take a similar approach with all this. But it sounds like most of the rooms are going the same direction on all this stuff. |

I've found a URL on Dania Jai-Alai's web site that hosts all of its' poker info. Here's what they're going to offer:
-- They are continuing with their "$5,000" tournament on Sundays at 12:30, but they'll allow a rebuy. Buy-in is $37+$13, rebuy is $34+$6. 10 minute blind levels. They also have turbos of the same variety. They are also keeping their "$1,000" tourney with a similar structure. -- $50 NL MTTs + 1 rebuy daily. 15 minute blinds. Rake is pretty shoddy. Buy-in is $37+$13. -- $100 NL MTTs nightly with 15% rake. Structure is poor -- again, 15 min. blinds. -- $55 SNGs where $18 is kept as a rake/jackpot drop. 15 minute levels. $220 for 1st, $100 for 2nd, $50 for third -- $100 SNGs where $20 is kept as a rake/jackpot drop. 15 minute levels. $420 for 1st, $240 for 2nd, $140 for third. That's all, folks. Jackpot info: They will award a $500 prize for Royal Flushes, $250 for the "high hand of the day" (which they will award twice a day ... ???) and a bad beat progressive which must have Aces full of Jacks beaten by at least 4OAK in the single flop games. In Omaha and double flop HE, four jacks must be beaten. I cannot begin to say how unimpressed and disappointed I am about this. Dania is either catering to the low-roller or is just old and stodgy with their card room ... and my guess is that it's the latter. See it all here.link |

Dania isn't going to be very competitive. Probably you need to find somewhere else to play.

Dania has always had the worst of all the badly structured tourneys here.

went to the hard rock yesterday in hollywood. spoke to a dealer that said:
he and others have been training to deal 3/6, 4/8 and 5/T limit games mentioned something about a buyin being $120 but i forget the context of the conversation (i had a buzz going and was distracted by the young girls on a friday nite) said $25 cash chips have been ordered had no idea about nl cash games, but did says sit-n-gos will get bigger said all changes will take place soon maybe by end of month of course, take this with a grain of salt; however, i see no reason why he would lie about all this. |

The dealers at Derby Lane will attend a meeting this Sunday to learn what that cardroom will be offering come July 1.
A few of the floor supervisors all agreed that if enough players put their name on an interest list for a game, say 1-5 limit, they would start it up. |
