probably atom heart mother. i'm not being a contrarian or whatever, it's really what i'd listen to give given the choice of any floyd album. there's just something about the arrangement.

I've been on a floyd kick lately, but have mostly been listening to bootlegs from before DSOTM. Interstellar Fillmore is worth tracking down.

Meddle is hands down my favorite album.

You guys hate David Gilmour, huh?

Why do you say this? David Gilmour is the man. I would rather go see a David Gilmour show than a Roger Waters show any day (which reminds me - Roger Waters tickets are $120 FACE VALUE - WTF?!?!)

[/ QUOTE ]

Gilmour was in Oakland a week and a half ago and I already had prior plans... teh suck no doubt!

I actually like Gilmour's first solo album more than most Floyd albums. Don't know why.....

On-topic mini-hijack: Which would be the best album for someone to start off with that hasn't really listened to a lot of Pink Floyd? How should one progress through the albums?

Animals would probably be a good start, is good classic rock, there isn't anything out there/weird on it.

My favorite is Animals closely followed by Atom Heart Mother and then Wish You Were Here.

Only reason I said it is because most of the responses were for Floyd's old stuff, and none of the "newer" albums like TFC, Momemtary Lapse of Reason, or Division Bell. I can say that the song "The Final Cut" is my favorite Floyd song and my favorite album is Delicate Sound of Thunder.

I like a few tracks off the new Gilmour "On an Island" Cd.
