I find that ducks' opinions of me are very much influenced over whether or not I have bread. A duck loves bread, but he does not have the capacity to buy a loaf. That's the biggest joke on a duck ever.

How often do ducks mate?

For the past month or so, the ducks have been very territorial and combative. On Friday, I got confirmation of why when a mother was swimming around with eleven newborn duckies.

These baby ducks either have a high mortality rate or the Mirage removes them from the pond.

All the time it seemed like. When I was growing up we had some ducks as pets. One mallard male and two females. If you wanna see something hardcore, check out two ducks when they mate. The male will jump on the female's back, grab her by the back of the neck with his beak and shove her face in the dirt so her ass is sticking up in the air for easy access. That mallard was a pimp.

This is the most tragic picture I have ever seen in my life.

[/ QUOTE ]

I posted this last year and someone mentioned it was photoshopped. A sick part of me wishes it was an actual picture. Maybe it actually is.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's not photoshopped as much as I think that the images don't directly follow eachother.

Also, you are evil for hoping that it's real and I am going to fight you.

[/ QUOTE ]

The photos are real. The guy who took them posted them in some forum and explained that he was able to open the grate and rescue all but one of the ducks.

This afternoon, I saw something terribly sad. The mother duck was again with her baby ducks. But, there were only two left. To aggravate the situation, the other adult ducks were constantly nipping at the little guys.
