i have a lot of respect for you for putting in the time and not charging (yet anyway) for your hard work. [/ QUOTE ]Seems unlikely he'll try charging later. For one thing, this has become such a moral debate, it'd be a stretch for Juk to say "I've abandonded my faith. Gimme $50." For another, he already released the source. Thanks. Just bought PokerAce, but with just a few hands on each player (25-100 hands), the statistics becomes misleading. This will help.
I understood half of the iWitness thing, i will read the thread... And again I praise the fact itīs free. To many is trying to make money of the moneymakers... |

For one thing, this has become such a moral debate, it'd be a stretch for Juk to say "I've abandonded my faith. Gimme $50." [/ QUOTE ] Yes, I can say pretty much categorically I won't be charging for this or anything else. My background is CompSci+AI, and the nearest I ever got to commercial programming is working in academia on AI projects sponsored by corporations (even this went against the grain for me and I eventually left and went into teaching). I don't think any of the little projects I have shared here have taken much more than a couple of days to code up, and I think all the info I read here on 2+2 has helped me alot more and saved me much more time than the projects took themselves! I don't post often in any of the strategy forums, but I did lurk for along time. Hopefully this repays the info people have shared here with me, as they too haven't done so for gain, but for the same reasons as I have shared my projects. Hopefully my philosophy might rub off on a few others and more free projects will start up in future. [ QUOTE ] For another, he already released the source. [/ QUOTE ] Yep, I can't really see any way this source can be misused badly, and if I can I will always give away the source in the hope that somebody may improve on it. The DollarToBB thing is a bit different, as this could be misused possibly to make 'nasties'. Also this project is clearly 'grey' and it may very well get banned/blocked eventually, and not releasing the source won't change this fact, whereas keeping the DollarToBB stuff closed increases the chance of the project staying alive! It's late and I'm done playing for the night so will wait til tomorrow to try this out. I too got the "corrupt file" thing with Firefox and downloaded with IE. [/ QUOTE ] I have managed to forward my domain name and re-host another copy here. Hopefully this wont have the same problems as my free host! If you still get problems then just email me and I will send a copy. [ QUOTE ] For what it's worth, I think you have done exactly the right thing. From the bottom of my anarchist heart I thank you for reinforcing a bit of my faith in the true nature of the human animal. [/ QUOTE ] Ty, I kinda expected a lot of mixed feelings, but it wasn't as thought I did something which wasn't already in circulation - all I did was make it free. [ QUOTE ] is there a way to auto import the .hhf files that get saved? [/ QUOTE ]Of course. Just do the same steps you did a month ago, only now open FPHG first. Juk's app only makes the new Party more like the old Party. That's all. -Sam [/ QUOTE ] Adde has written down the steps needed here. Juk |

Thanks! (I haven't used PT for quite a while, so wasn't sure if they changed something in it since the update)

I agree and am not sure on how they will take this (see here).

I am not sure if this has effected anybody yet, but there is a known bug which causes the end of hands to get missed if there was a side-pot.
The reason for this is that I use " wins .*\n\0" as my terminating expression and sometimes I see a hand which it has not quite finished writing the text for, and their are still other side-pots after. The code does have the ability to append this bit if is sees a HH has grown, but under times of high CPU load, a new HH can be written over the original before you see this appended data. Does anybody know if PT actually uses the allocated winnings for its calculations (possibly for rake?). It seem to import them fine for me, but not sure if this could slightly skew stats like W$SD?
