So this is AP's grand plan to get back in the good graces of the poker community? I know Nat's a stand up guy, but isn't it a conflict of interest to have the guilty party paying for a report they obviously hope comes off in a positive manner.

Since he gets paid before he reports, how is Nate facing a conflict of interest? Isn't his wealth the same whether he says good things or bad things? The money, since it arrives with or without a report, does not create a conflict of interest.

when they released the first statement saying there was no evidence of any compromise, what exactly did they do to investigate the situation? did someone go through the potripper tournament hand by hand and decide that nothing suspicious was going on? how were they able to suddenly discover that someone actually had comprised the system, one month after the first accusations, coincidentally during the same time that news reports started coming out about the incident?

if the poker community had not investigated this on our own, would absolute ever discover/admit that their system was compromised? if they say yes, what would cause them to begin investigation into the situation (assuming that there was no widespread accusations of cheating leveled), and what would cause these investigations to be successful (considering that the first investigations they did after we made accusations had failed)?

I made a few contacts who think it's a good idea to bring me down to Costa Rica for a week.

Yikes. Does your lawyer have a copy of your will?

Will you be able to see what the auditors are doing? That is, not look at the same things they are (you have said this is off limits) but ask about the scope of the audit and try and get some idea of how thorough and independent the audit is?

Edit: Wow this thread exploded whilst I was typing that - you addressed that in a reply you made above in the mean time. Good luck there, hope it goes well.

Do you people honestly think Nat should put his life on hold and fly to Costa Rica to investigate this for free? IMO he deserves every penny they pay him and probably a whole lot more. I also think he has as much credibility as anyone in the online poker community.

Haven't replyed to any AP threads, but I've read them all with interest.

Nat, I'd definitely like hear your report.

AP should pay back those cheated, NOT Nat. That's just absurd.

If it wasn't for Nat it's very possible that the people who was cheated would never be paid back at all.
If nothing else the people who got cheated should pay Nat a commission for the work he's done.
Obviously it's a lot better if AP pay for both.
