I also heard Iweargoggles and Andy Black wept gently in each others arms when the tournament director at the WSOP decided to start before some random guy got back from dinner break.
This 'etiquette' seems -EV.

I don't know how I feel about someone raising the bar when it comes to ethics or class in online poker, I was kinda getting comfortable with it being lowered continuously.
