Doesn't anybody hear what I'm saying? Is there anybody in here over 21 yrs of age who can impart some maturity on this situation?

I disagree with you, but I understand what you are saying.

People are acting like real morons in this, and the original thread. It is scary how much people are acting like an angry mob on a witch hunt.

edit: I'm not over 21

[/ QUOTE ]

When you read the entire ZeeJustin post, you will see that much of the anger is directed towards ZeeJustin's apologists, or people who think that ZeeJustin was treated too harshly (as in this case). Because it is these people who are a greater threat to the poker community than ZeeJustin.

Cheaters and thieves and crooks exist in every walk of life. It is when good people look the other way that the community breaks down.

El D said it best "Its a shame what we robbed the world of if you had stayed if in college" or something to that effect just a few weeks ago.

[/ QUOTE ]

LOL.

I didn't read that but I'd be willing to bet like 4389590438503948 dollars that he was being sarcastic.

The kid didn't have $100,000 to his name a year ago. There is no way that taking it from him now will "ruin him" in any way.

[/ QUOTE ]

With all due respect, it doesn't matter. These arguments are worthless. 100K is 100K and its a lot of $$ no matter who you are. You cannot base punishments on how badly someone will be hurt finacially. Let's do what's right and come up with a good proposal to send to the sites. We must do what's right here.

I agree. Here is my proposal:

1. Ban all cheaters.
2. Take away all their money.

Who's with me?

What you are saying is unreasonable. Implying that people who take a position contrary to you are immature, is in fact immature. Once again, the delicious irony. I, by the way, am quite a bit older than 21.

Jcm, with all respect, because I do respect your posts and I have played with you online.

What's considered cheating? If this was the case and we followed your rules then almost anyone successful in any capitalistic society will have nothing. Why? Because everyone cuts corners. Everyone. Don't be a damn liar and say you don't.

Your proposal and anything close to it is absolutely ludacrous and hypocritical and anyone who agrees with it is too.

The point is people who are disagreeing politely (like the OP) are not being met with reason and sane discourse (sometimes), they are being met with people who if this were real life, would be running around with flaming sticks, or getting ready to stone them.

EDIT: to clarify, like I said I disagree with the OP and beleive the punishment fit the crime, but in short: chill out people.

A lot of this insulting and animosity is jealousy.

[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly. I'll even admit that seeing his name at the top of that big stars sunday tourney made me jealous because I've played it well and been drawn out on week after week when I was already in the money or close to it. I'll even admit that I'm jealous that that fish The Grinder keeps making final tables when I know that he's no smarter than me. Even with all of that, I want to beat Zee in cards using my own abilities and if I cannot then so be it. Man, I don't even like the guy and I know he cheated but still, the punishment of stripping him of 100K is too much. We simply cannot give online poker rooms the ability to send out an email and tell a guy that he's out 100 grand.

Indy

[/ QUOTE ]

Not jealousy imo, cheaters need to be punished as harshly as possible.
