But it is Walsh's solo version. Which for a long time I believe only appeared on the Warriors soundtrack, although I would guess it's made it's way to some compilations by now. [/ QUOTE ] The Eagles put it on their 1979 album "The Long Run." |

I haven't seen the recent re-release "director's cut." Can anyone comment? I heard that the cue-card gang intro's took away some of the tension. [/ QUOTE ] You are exactly right. I hate the new version. |

[ QUOTE ] time to slaughter it with a remake? [/ QUOTE ] already on it http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0423512/ [/ QUOTE ] I think the remake could actually be pretty good. The original, while enjoyable, was so cartoonish that it was hard to really take seriously. If the remake is filmed in Los Angeles with realistic gangs and situations, I could see it being really good. |

What? How can you have gangs that are interesting at all w/o being cartoonish? That's the ENTIRE fun of the movie. It can't possibly be realistic. What gang spends a couple hours every night putting on makeup and baseball uniforms just so they can go out and be instantly recognized by every cop in town?
A realistic movie about a gang trying to get home through enemy territory in LA definitely could be good. But it would be a very different movie IMO. |

The one Joe Walsh did for the movie is much better. |

It wouldn't be an improvement or a wreck, it would just be a different movie. |

Sooga,
"realistic gangs" As has been said already, that basically makes the movie NOT THE WARRIORS. |

[/ QUOTE ] Oh I know it would be a completely different movie. I never said it would be a faithful remake of the original. But the basic 'Warriors' premise of 'gang trying to get through other-gang infested waters' would be the same, and it could be very good. |
