I disagree. There are probably less than 10 players with a million dollar bankroll, possibly less than 4. Yes there are more and more millionaire players, but few keep that level of bankroll on hand for their games, most at the top levels keep less than 100BB. I was surprised to learn this from reading Professor Banker and Suicide King.

I hope you're joking, because I would hope that everyone here would know that his bankroll would have to be greatly in excess of "one million dollars" in order for any of this information to make any sense whatsoever.

When you are worth as much as Andy Beal, the concept of a bankroll simply becomes whatever he decides he wishes to risk loosing. To a man like Andy Beal, a business transaction where he makes or looses $10 million is not unusual.

Couldn't agree more and they have actually won a million starting from scratch and using their poker skills. Beal is a rich hump who likes to play with the best. That's his choice but of course they're much better than him and have taken him for tens of millions. The end.

Basically, Andy got the pros into a game so rich the pros were pretty much taking a shot. The pros got a little greedy, knowingly violated rules of bankroll management, and Beal nearly broke them.

Sure, Ivey is great but a bigger bankroll can overcome skill. If Ivey has enough money behind him (like 10's of millions) then he can take Beal for a huge amount but if Beal keeps raising the stakes to the point that it changes Ivey's game, Beal has a shot to win even though Ivey is clearly the better player.

Andy put up $20 million vs The Corporation's combined $10 million. That's how it started several years ago, and that's how it continues (in between Andy's multiple retirements from poker). They play hold'em and I think I read a few matches about 7-stud. Blinds are usually 30k-60k, sometimes 50k-100k.

the problem with this line of thought is that the money does not come from Ivey or anyone else in particular, it's a combination of pros risking probably less then they would playing eachother for 4k-8k.
