Ooops, hit continue by accident...
I'll leave the O8 bad beat stories for another time, like maybe never. Sat at an open 1-2NL table. They made the button post another $2 for whatever reason. PF raises from $7 to $18, 4 to 6 to a flop. I was the iddy biddy stack with the $100 buy-in; most others had $200 to $800 in front. I played just one hand where my AQo ended up all in to tie a maniac LAG on my immediate right. I saw him call $12 pre-flop with Jd5d UTG to make a rivered flush on a turned K-high Broadway board against two others. They both mucked their Aces in disgust. |

Hello all.
I arrived to the Seminole HR in Tampa at noon on 7/01/07. Waited in line for about 5-10 minutes to put my name on the 1-2nl list. I ended up taking a seat at a 4/8 limit game. Saw some very loose play there. Played only 1 hand before getting my nl seat. Had a 2 people with me at showdown and they both flip up the 3rd button...I end up raking in a pretty decent pot with TPTK. So far so good. New table opens up for 1/2nl so I make my way over. I believe I was 1 of 2..maybe 3 who bought in for the $300max. Most people with $100-150 to start the game.Standard preflop raise for most players is to $6-10. My standard preflop raisees of $10-17 worked like a charm for the most part. Played the day pretty TAG. An obnoxcious girl in seat 2 is very laggy and is raising Ax and calling everyones raises...I await paintently praying that Im the one who gets to stack her. I finally get 7s8s UTG, I limp, and call the 4x raise from the BB. Four others come along. Flop comes 4s5c6s..BB goes all in for $28 and I smooth call. Obnoxcious girl now in MP raises it to $98 and I push. She thinks for a min and calls. BB flips 10h10d and she flips 2d3d....yes!!! Blanks on turn and river. Stack her for about $240 and rake in about $320ish. Sorry Sir and thank you for playing Mam. Rest of day goes well and I end up with about $150 more. Leave around 615pm up around $430ish for the day. Would have to say that there was mostly bad to below average players at my 1-2nl table. Did have a couple of solid players though and we pretty much stayed away from each other. Money is to be made at all the games now. I feel there was much more enthusiasim and vigor throughout the cardroom than there has ever been. Finally....the day has come. Let us all rejoice and be glad in it..... EazyCard |

Just got back from the Isle of Capri and all I can say is wow. It is as nice as any poker room I have been in. The tables are big and comfy, with a wooden strip area for your chips. Plenty of space between their 34 tables.
They were spreading 1/2, 2/4 and 3/5 limit. Played for couple of hours at the 3/5 and broke even. Action was very tame and friendly. Then played 1/2 NL $100 max buyin for about 3 hours and won about 100. Again you got to see a lot of flops cheaply. Could have won much more but I was card dead most of the night. Their SNG's are offering twice as many starting chips than at the Hard Rock (unless they have changed). The rake is also quite a bit less. For ex. The $100 SNG starts with 2000 units and the rake is $150. At the Hard Rock you get 1500 units and the rake is $200 total. The $200 starts with 4000 units while the $250 at the Hard Rock starts with 2000. They are starting some really nice Tournaments July 9th. There is a $350 Sunday event with 10,000 units and 30 minute blinds. Awesome. |

Boca I looked for you at Isle but was there at Noon ... looks like you were there earlier.
Not a single report from Dania? I bet they're out-o-bidness in like 6 mos. |

I just want to add that if you are playing at the Hard Rock Hollywood, make sure your dealer is not taking a drop out of pots that don't see a flop. I had to call the floor over last night to explain to our dealer that she should not be dropping a rake out of pots that don't see a flop. She had already done it twice and gave me a really strange look when I asked her about it.
It's pretty obvious that the dealers and the floor are all still a bit confused over there. It was funny to watch the floor people looking at each other from across the room shrugging as if to say "I have no clue either." |

I made it over to the Hard Rock Tampa yesterday and there was some horrible play. They had 1/2nl (ton of tables), 2/5nl (6-8 tbls), and 10/25nl (2 tbls) running. I wanted to play 5/10 but it wasn't offered. I didn't bring enough (only 3k) to comfortably sit down at the 10/25, so I settled on the 2/5.
Chips - Their biggest chips are $5 right now and they are in short supply. The new chips are supposed to be in in about 10 days. Quite a few people were sitting with a ton of $5 chips at the 10/25 table. The runners kept coming by our table and buying $500 worth of chips from the larger stacks. Horrible Play - Worst call ever. Seat 6 - $1,600 +/- (in the BB) Seat 8 - $2,100 +/- (UTG +1) Seat 9 - $700 +/- Limp Parade - 6 to the flop Flop is 10, 8, 6 rainbow Seat 6 bets $20, Seat 8 raises to $60, Seat 9 calls Seat 6 re-raises to $100, Seat 8 re-raises another $100, Seat 9 folds Seat 6 shoves for around $1,400 I think Seat 6's hand was pretty obvious to everyone at the table. Seat 8 thought and thought and asked the guy if he would show. Seat 6 said, "Maybe" and then finally said, "I'll show." When he said, "I'll show" Seat 8 said, "OK, I call." Hands Seat 6 had 9,7 for the nuts (obviously) Seat 8 had (drum roll) 10,6 (top and bottom pair) I really don't know WTF he was thinking. I mean best case scenario was that Seat 6 was shoving with a set; worst case and most likely was the straight. I guess the guy had been catching so many cards that he thought he couldn't miss. No improvement for Seat 8 and Seat 6 took down the pot of the night ($3,500 +/-). I stayed for about 6 hours and finished up around $700 on the night. There is definitely money to be made in these games. If you are interested I posted a trip report on my blog http://opoker.blogspot.com/2007/07/r...report-of.html |

[/ QUOTE ] I stopped by Dania mid-afternoon Sunday. Didn't play, just to have a look. About half of the tables in the room weren't even open, and there was a tournament going on. They had two 1/2 NL tables going, but there were seats open at at least one of them. There was a waiting list about six deep each for 2/4 LHE and for $5 double-flop. Boyd does need to get moving there. You can't even sniff a slot machine there yet even though they are allowed to have them and for some reason they can't figure out how to get people into their poker room even though the facility is a pretty good one. |

Dropped 213 smackers at DERBY LANE yesterday.
Appears I'm the only 2+2 poster that lost in Florida yesterday. Today I take my traveling roadshow to TAMPA DOWNS. First plans were to visit TAMPA GREYHOUND today, but TAMPA DOWNS works better today. |

Funny too since I was up $60 till my last hand (I had already announced it would be my last to the dealer) and I played AA badly and lost to T9 on a 8JQ flop. I had a read on the opponent and knew I was beat but still called 140 more. I think my concentration might have been off after playing 13 hours straight and not having slept the night before. |

[/ QUOTE ] It's because their management is stodgy and closed-minded. I have emailed with them often, and the gists I get are that 1) They're on the Boyd payroll, so they don't care, and 2) They're catering to people who want to play some cheap poker in a few hours. No big $ tourneys, no deep stack tourneys, no tourney with more than 15 min. blinds. Plus, they're North of the Hard Rock, Mardi Gras and Gulfstream and South of The Isle and Coconut Creek -- so their location works against them b/c no one will travel the extra distance to their room unless they live near the FLL airport. |
