[ QUOTE ] About a month ago people were going to put up a few hundred for someone to just do it, now that someone is willing to do it, people are bitching about him taking any of it. Shut up. [/ QUOTE ] Seriously. I bet there wouldn't be any bitching if OP offered to do it and asked for backers, then afterwards said he'd donate half to charity. Same [censored], except he's up front about it. [/ QUOTE ] QFT, everyone lay off Bond, ffs. Whether or not you decide to take any money for your brave deed, I think you should grab the chark, yell "Say goodbye to your little friend!" (as suggested) then jump up and down on the chark til it's dead. Then put the flattened chark on ebay and donate proceeds to Children Inc (cos Barry G is way cooler than Phil G, obv) |

But there's another more deeper issue here. If you look around, we don't charge for stuff. Of course, if you're an advertiser you get charged, or if you purchase a book, they're not free, but we don't charge any of our users to participate here and we don't ask them for money. This is something that's important to me and to the philosophy in which we established this site. [/ QUOTE ] mason, i applaud you that you have a mystery charity but your business model that youve outlined above doesnt appear to be for altruistic reasons. maybe im wrong so tell me if it is so. what stuff are you referring to that you do not charge that you feel you should? websites are generally free for the public and bring customers which generate advertising dollars and sell products such as books. if you started charging for your site, it would seem that profits would go down. |

I would 100 % do this if I knew I wouldn't get 86'd... Bond, I wouldn't trust Phil G saying you won't get 86'd.. he doesn't have sway or anything and really doesn't like 2p2. But yeah, if I could know that I wouldn't get 86'd I'd do it when not even at his table

Bad Beat on Cancer is a good cause regardless of your feelings towards Phil Gordon.

Where does this fear of 86'ing come from? It's not like he's threatening to play neutral EV video poker!
Seriously, though, how is it that someone can be unafraid to approach someone and steal their property and run away with it and destroy it, but his biggest concern is getting "86'd from the Rio?" Someone please explain how this would result in the the Rio intervening. Isn't OP just as likely to be, like, arrested, if it came down to it? |

I never said it wasn't a good cause. My concern is the asking for money, no matter what the cause, in these forums. It's something that I don't feel comfortable with, and this is good spot to address it.
Best wishes, Mason |

Bond,
I like you, but donate all the proceeds, it's not even remotely close. It would be very cool if you do it right, but pretty dumb any other way. |
