possible dumb question:
Why is this final table 10-handed when most are 9-handed?

[/ QUOTE ]

b/c Hellmuth was the shortstack and the floorpeople decided that they didn't want to risk him busting out and having a Phil-less final table. i've got no problem with that.

[/ QUOTE ]

Uh, yeah, ok. Hellmuth is ninth in chips so how does that make sense? Also, Hellmuth is a winner in cash games. The Hellmuth haters never make a logical point about the guy.

They have just halted play and combined tables, I suspect.

Hellmuth himself was quoted by pokernews as saying he needs to outlast another player still to tie Cloutiers record for most final tables ever (39)

So, sounds to me like it's not 'really' the final table yet. They are just all at one table.

:O

HEllmuith is ninth in chips but there are 10 ppl... it's possible that he busts out 10th.

you posited that Hellmuth was a winning cash game player without evidence and then proceeded to talk about logic.
"Also, Hellmuth is a winner in cash games. The Hellmuth haters never make a logical point about the guy."

I [censored] hate people like you.

Shock and amazement! You CAN FT without racing once.

It's called post-flop play. Damn if some people would learn that term, online poker would get so much more fun :P.

[/ QUOTE ]If online structures weren't so fast that they prevented post flop play after the last few levels, then this might be an option.

When everybody has < 10 Big blinds, what kind of post flop play are you expecting?

BTW, I have railed PH in an online tournament, and he plays it just like everyone else- very little post flop poker.

Clearly you don't know poker Joowish. It's a well-known fact that your chip position dictates when you will be busting out, therefore Hellmuth just has to build his stack up one position before each shorty falls and he's set, otherwise he'll be out in 9th. So [censored] obvious.

I have a problem with it. It's blatant favouritism. The chip leader(s) have a big advantage on the bubble if they're playing right, and that has been removed. Would this decision have been made if Phil was chip leader and bullying the table ?

ESPN shouldn't be allowed to move the goalposts like this. And please note that this post has nothing to do with Phil's personality or skill as a player. It's more "You're Terrence Chan, not Johnny Chan" and it sucks.
