Maybe this isn't low content but I wanted to post this hand anyway. I'm really upset about how I played it but I already know what I should have done differently so I don't need any stratagy advice. I'm posting this b/c 1) maybe if I post it I'll remember to do the right thing next timee and 2) someone else might read it and learn something from it.
I got KK otb and open raise, horrible fish whose been cold calling all night cold calls in the sb, bb calls too Flop JT6 sb leads bb fold I raise sb 3 towns, I cap Turn 6 sb leads I call This is the point of the hand that I'm mad at. I should be raising b/c its pretty obvious I have the best hand and he's never folding. Sb's most likely hand is JT or an overplayed AJ and I've just counterfitted JT. He never has JJ or TT b/c he'd 3bet those pf. He doesn't cold call w/T6 or J6 and he likely doesn't have quads. But like the idiot I am, I just call and call again when the river bricks off. He flips over AJ and I know I missed a BB. Lesson learned: Knowing how to read hands does you no good if you choose to ignore your reading skills. Now I gotta work a whole nother hour this month the make up for that lost BB |

i dont know who sb is offhand i would have to see his face. sanjiv is generally weak tight, very tight in general. his weakness would be he's too passive. he's a good player though, he regularly plays and beats the 1-2 at commerce.

[ QUOTE ]
cp players: what do you think woodstock (40s female, always wears dark wraparound sunglasses) is on? We had a debate at the table today (it was one of those games) and the general consensus is meth but I think crack is a possibility. [/ QUOTE ] i had played with her about 2 years ago in the 6/12 and 8/16 games. i heard at the time that she was a recovering alcoholic or something like that. i highly doubt she is on anything. that said, i do think she is completely out of her mind. |

probably over a year ago i am playing with this old asian dude. he does not do a good job of protecting his hand when he looks at it, and i can see what he has. i tell him as much. he does not thank me, but rather says "what did i have?"
yesterday, i am playing 8/16 with him. he limps utg, 2 other drooling morons limp. i raise QQ in the BB. all call. flop comes Q72 all spades. i bet, asian prick raises, all fold, i 3, he 4, i 5, he call. turn is a red ACE i bet, he calls. river is a small spade. i bet, he calls. he turns over QJ with the Js. after he tables his hand, he points/taps on the Js, in an effort to bring attention to it. can i murder him now? |

lol girls.
I get to Commerce last night and sit down in a mediocre must-move 20 game when the girl I'm seeing calls to tell me she's going to come meet me there and play blackjack. I do okay in the intervening moments, winning about 9BBs before she calls again to say she just lost $400 at blackjack and is coming over to the poker table. She knows nothing about holdem. So I pull up a chair behind me and prepare to be 'that guy.' Also, she knows I usually win so she's expecting me to show her that I wasn't lying and I'm actually not some degenerate who blows a grand every night gambooling. I gave up trying to explain the difference between poker and blackjack in terms of expected value. She starts sweating me as I post my BB. I usually don't look at my cards 'til it's my turn to act, but right after I get both of them she leans forward and taps my shoulder, wanting to see what I have. *sigh*. I show her (and probably the guy next to me) my 94o. There's a PFR and I fold. She goes, "play the next one OK?" The next hand I'm in the SB and I pick up black KK. When she sees my cards, she actually goes "oh!" and kicks my chair, then bounces on her seat. Really? I pray nobody is noticing what is going on, and as I look around I realize I'm lucky to be at Commerce where everyone is a clueless zombie. So UTG and UTG+1 both limp, and it's folded to the button who raises. I 3-bet, BB folds, and the two limpers cold-call and the button calls. I lean forward and try to ignore my girlfriend as much as possible for the rest of the hand lest she start blowing [censored] smoke signals to tell everyone what I have. 4 to the flop for 13SBs. Flop comes Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I bet, EP1 folds, EP2 calls, button calls. Turn is a 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. BB bangs the table and says "good 3-bet!" I bet, EP calls, button folds. 2 to the river for 10BBs. River is the T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I bet, EP raises. My heart sinks and I realize I'm going to lose a 14BB pot right off the bat, showing off how "great" I am at poker, but I make the easy/crying call. EP shows down A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] for the bluff and I rake in $560 in chips as my girlfriend starts clapping and leans forward asking "what did you make, a pair?" "Yes," I said. "I had one pair." And smiled inside at EP's flop peel. Two hands later I picked up AQ, there was a raise, I 3-bet and got it HU, then took it down on a Qxx flop. Two hands after that, I got AJs and flopped broadway. Now I'm up $900 and the girl goes "oh my god you won so much! You should quit now!" Even though I'd only played for an hour or so, I decided that was the best course of action. Next time, I'm not telling her when I go to Commerce. Even though now she thinks she is my lucky charm. |
