Well, from what I've seen of my friend who plays headsup for a living, $100/hour at nl100 is as you say sustainable. Personally, I played 6 max with a decent winrate for 1.5 years before I moved to headsup, and I'm never going back again. I just love the action and the fight over the money.
Actually, I played 10 max SNGs before I started playing 6 max cash, but I think my switching has stopped now that I found my true love which is headsup cash As for the softness at stars vs FTP, I'd take stars anyday, but the rakeback at FTP sure is nice. btw, I obviously voted HU cash edit: ehm, this was a reply to cwar, but it looks like he deleted his post. |

I need some advice on what to play:
After all the money I have taken out for taxes and life expenses I have about a $10k roll (even after some huge scores recently which I basically just used to pad my outside of poker roll) so that being said what should I play? - 100nl 6-max on FT I can only 4-5 table (cuz of lag and new speed) for about 400 hands an hour worth about $50/hour + whatever I make in rakeback, on the plus side my 6-max game is very very good right now and I could care less about the variance at this level - 100nl 6-max on PS I can 8-table this for sure but Id have to move money over to PS no idea whats the difference without rakeback or game softness - 200nl 6-max on FT because Im supporting myself with poker the variance at this level makes me a bit uncomfortable which tends to make me play a lot less than if I were playing 100nl this would probably change as I got closer to 100 buyins and played it more. Probably worth a little under $100 an hour after I get comfortable. - 100nl HU a bit rusty in the HU department and my HU cash game has never been where I want it to be. Also 2-tabling heads-up Id probably play less hours per day than I play 200nl just because its HU. Once I get the rust out this is probably worth about $100/hour as well. Another plus is I like to improve all the time so learning something Im not as good at would probably be very +EV. - $110s with controlled shots at the $220 turbo HU SNGs on FT worth at least $100+ an hour but I find them very boring and somewhat stressful for some reason. I also felt like I stopped improving while playing these as compared to playing 100bb+ cash games so probably not a longterm option. EDITTED for better poll options. |

I don't have all that many hands there to be honest (don't have my full PT db here so I can't check either). I'm not really sure but I think it's only a bit more than 40k hands of 100nl at Stars, and fewer at FTP. My general impression was that there was a lot more grinders at FTP, and the overall aggro was higher with more 3-betting preflop etc. But I'm sure other people will have other experiences, so take it for what it's worth.

For suicide inducing thoughts, sharkscope DPFdennis and look at his last three games.

So my pooh-bah post is fast approaching, what would everyone enjoy the most a strategy type post like the Anatomy of a C-bet post or a well type thing? Any other ideas are welcome the whole point is going to be to give back to everyone that has helped me to get this far so tell me what you want.

cwar I'd love to hear some of your thoughts on HUNLCASH strategy.
------------------------- I'm chilling at my parents place, I've been here for 2 weeks and I have another week to go. I'm laid up after getting ACL replacement surgery. They only have Macs! Upon my return some folks are gonna get WRECKED at Full Tilt. |

Question for all the HU cash players, Ive been playing some more heads-up cash, is it bad manners for me to sit out once I shortstack someone and ask them to rebuy? Obviously I dont want to sit with someone who has $25 at $100nl and I tell them I am not hit and running and am willing to rebuy. [/ QUOTE ] It's not bad manners imo. I do this all the time. |

[/ QUOTE ] I do it too, but today I was called "the rudest, most lucky arsehole player" when I sat out with $170 vs his $30. Most people don't have a problem with it, but I do feel bad sometimes. If it is a fish I play against and talk to a lot I'll let them play with a small stack as long as they start with a full buyin. |
