[ QUOTE ]
The only thing that stops me from using it as a player is that I can't shrink it down to a slim bar and/or auto-hide the playlist like winamp can.

[/ QUOTE ]

I used Itunes as my music player and control it by

1) When in FireFox I used the "FoxyTunes" Extension which puts on the bottom status bar the basic audio controls and the name of the song currently playing.

2) I use the Google Desktop sidebar and added a thing called "gdtunes" which lets me control Itunes or Winamp.

These seem to work well enough for me. See pics below of what they look like.

Blarg - I don't know what to say. I installed QT within the last 6 months. I went through the custom install and looked at all the file associations, and it came up good. Sucks that they nailed you.

[/ QUOTE ]

No worries. I unchecked nearly everything before finishing the installation, and all I had was the usual pop up in the taskbar thingy. I'll get rid of that, and things will be like they were.

SD-slot-idea-haters:
Do you realize there's a Sansa player roughly the size of a nano that has a slot? You can argue practicality, but size and cost are not issues.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's the one I just got. Can't read the manual at work, but looking forward to trying it out. 8 gigs with a SD slot. It's micro-SD though.

Wireless what? Internet? Do you know how the internet works? Let me fill you in - it's a series of tubes.

[/ QUOTE ]
The internet can be transmitted wirelessly in a limited area, and there are these devices in things that can receive this signal....
