Top 5 ep ever IMO. I really was just in disbelief as Tony was squeezing Chrissy's nose shut. A+

Chris is dying, all he can say is "I'll never pass a drug test, call me a taxi". Tony knew where chris's mind was, and what he had to do. But even though Tony was really upset about his death, he then goes and tries to get away from it by using drugs.

Tony is breaking down and I wouldnt mind seeing him get whacked by Phil's crew (the slacking on the asbestos dumping got to me, why does tony have to be so hard nosed when he knows he's the little man )

Anyways.. Tony is becoming a douch, he knew Chris was becoming an issue, but to take him out when he's at his weakest is pretty pathetic.

I'm trying to process exactly what David Chase was thinking when he decided to go forth with this version of his end game for The Sopranos. Frankly, I just don't get it..at all.

I am befuddled as to why a character with as much impact on the series over the years is disposed of quickly without any buildup, without any ends being tied up (Adrianna, JT, Paulie, etc), and ... well, almost as though he was never a integral part of the show. Very confusing...it felt very anticlimactic, very out of place and..rushed.

I'm just wholly disappointed that Chase et. al. didn't capitalize on the immense opportunities that were put in front of them to end the show with Christopher being a key player...or, at least, disposed of in a better, more explained way.

It just felt so rushed...

I felt like I was watching a bad ripoff of Natural Born Killers when they were out in the desert...peyote, mesas, sunset, murdered...Natural Born Soprano? Very weak...again, while I understand the mental, psychological destruction that Tony is going through...I'm not sure this was the best route to display where he was at.

As an aside, for you Band of Brothers fans...wtf is up with Frank John Hughes showing up the last two weeks? Last week, when I saw him at the Bing, I was like WTF? This week, he came to see Tony with Paulie, Sil and Bobby..like he was a main player..odd. Cast credits has his character named Walden Belfiore...anyone see him besides the last two episodes.

In summary, very saddened by tonight's episode...have a feeling that the end three episodes simply aren't going to be good. Disappointed to see such a fantastic character go out the way he did...just, again, didn't seem right..or fair..sigh.

one thing that i've noticed about this season and i'm not sure if i'm just reading to deep into it, but he wanted to kill paulie on the boat and he couldn't do it, and it seems as though he's been wanting to get rid of christopher for a while and he could only bring himself to do it when chris was incapacitated and near death anyways.

he is also seemingly unable/unwilling to stand up to phil l. which could be his final undoing.

if you notice in the scene where the family gathers in tony's room right after the accident, it doesn't look as though tony captivates their attention at all, moreso that they are simply going through the motions, i could definitely see a fracturing of the crew, as loyalty towards tony and among the crew disintegrates and phil absorbs members into his family.

also to people hating on the vegas/peyote scene, that [censored] was money.

I was surprised by the apparent complete 180 in AJ this week. Where do you think they're going with him now?

Chase isn't interested in tying everything up in a neat little bow. People were also disappointed that the Russian never came back. Sometimes people just die without any fanfare.

Did you want Christopher to get really high and start choking AJ in the Bing so that Tony could pull him off and then brutally beat him to death in front of everybody and then get arrested, with the irony being that his once protégé causes his downfall?

Or perhaps Tony could be having sex with Kelli Moltisanti while the baby is in its crib, Christopher barges in, shoots at Tony, kills Kelli by accident, and in the resulting fight between Chris and Tony the crib is knocked over and the baby is crushed and then AJ slips on some blood and cracks his head open and dies and then Meadow gets into a deadly car accident while grieving, and then Carmela once again falls in love with Father Intintola and he leaves the priesthood for her and the final shot of the series is FBI Agent Dwight Harris dancing at the wedding with Gabriella Dante?

Or there's the much more subtle "life goes on" approach that would feature Christopher giving a friendly wave to Valery the Russian as Valery eats a strawberry ice-cream cone.

I loved this ep, powerful and pointed while still having all he great Sopranos touches, like the departed soundtrack leading to the death, Paul Shaffer laughing in the background when the widow receives the news, Carmella's comment about Julianna's appearance, Carm's arrogance and pity for the low turnout at a wake.

I'll admit at first I was a little disappointed in Chrissy's death. But devoting a whole episode to everyone's reactions and Tony's guilt just made it worth it. While the death was sudden, it was not treated like a minor character, he was given the proper send off.

Tony did seem like there was a weight lifted off of his shoulders. He wasn't sure how to react. It looked like the only time it really bothered him was when he saw Chris's family.

We have been teased for a long time with a war with New York. Tensions keep building, but I have a feeling this will be one of those Chase teases. At some point Tony will make a favor exchange with Phil like he always does and the two will go on like always.

I'm not going to even try and follow AJ. His emotions and views on things change with the wind. I wonder if his character would have changed if he grew up differently. In the early episodes it looked like Iler would grow up to be a spitting image of Gandolfini. Instead he has turned out to be a bit frail and small. It makes it hard for him to be a badass, because he looks like anyone could beat him up. You have to think when he was cast they thought at this point he would be a hulking twenty something kid who you could have beat somebody up in a fit of anger. But instead you have to screw with him. You just get a feeling there was this vison for how he wanted AJ to turn out and because of being stuck with this actor his master plan is shot.
