I'm not familiar with these machines. How do they keep your neighbors from seeing your cards. Its not like you could use a normal computer monitor.

"but if online poker is rigged, won't these machines be rigged too?"
i feel that's a huge obstacle for these machines. |

[/ QUOTE ] As you move your hand over the facedown cards you touch the screen and the cards appear. You can cover them up with your hands. Just be careful of the 2, 4, 6, 8 seats as they can lean back and get a better look at your cards. |

Can you intentionally expose 1 or 2 hole cards on these machines?

I play at Canterbury too, and I agree with Milo. I wouldn't go to a card room for an electronic game, because i play online whenever i want. I like the card room atmosphere -- the chips and the cards are what I don't get on-line.
The SNGs at Canterbury are terrible -- maybe putting them on a PokeTron 4000 would improve them... |

Yeah I'm not sure I would be interested in one of these machines, I play online but if I play live, I like handling the chips and cashing them in later on. I also like to see the people I'm playing against.
And I bet the fish do too, I mean they aren't going to donate that much money for playing poker on a pc. The only difference between online and live would be the location, and probably the higher rake (the atmosphere would be gone). But if they lowered the rake, and used them for the small games (100nl, 1/2 limit) that would be great. But I never thought they would be that expensive to get, so you need to use them for the higher limits . |

It was also just announced that Commerce Casino is going to add some electronic tables as well.
http://www.bluffmagazine.com/pokerne...newsID=1101692 I like playing these new tables much more than using a dealer and I hope more and more places add them quickly. |

Is there a thread on 2+2 with a poll for people to vote on whether they prefer using chips, or a computer screen, or indifferent, etc?
I personally MUCH prefer to use real cards & chips. Just like people still use pen & paper for scratching out ideas or taking notes, or print out a PDF to read it... people like the touch & feel of these things. And the sound of people shuffling chips... it adds to the ambiance of the live game. |
