There is an argument for having people carry guns. They are called cops.

[/ QUOTE ]
The cops couldn't do much for the 31 dead, even with all the guns they have.

There are very few things the government could do that would make me seek to violently overthrow it, but banning guns would be one of them.

The day I get the letter in the mail telling me where I have to go to turn in all my guns is the day I begin to organize my own group of "freedom fighters."

BTW, I actually own 0 guns.

The "more guns would prevent violence" stuff is funny to me. That's great for Dirty Harry movies.

Hahaha. Im gonna assume you misquoted me on purpose.

If all guns are banned, the shooter wouldnt have legally been able to buy the weapons to kill those 31 kids.

If he had illegally bought the guns then you need to work harder to stop people doing that.

Again, here in Britain, zero school shootings like this since handguns outlawed. You could *try* and argue its a coincidence, but you wont get far.

The police chief is right. The state should have not let some guy with a gun shop sell the weapon to the shooter.

No gun, no shooting.

[/ QUOTE ]
What makes you think he bought it at a gun shop?

Five frat kids sit around a keg. They are drunk. One insults the other. The other shoots the first. Everyone else kills the origional killer, then kill each other.

I went to extremes. Tone it back a bit and realise how ridiculous it is to think giving kids guns is gonna make said kids safer.

Sure there might be less double figure massacres, but the accidental killings and random killings in arguments, over girls etc will remove any net benefits.

Yes I know what happened at Breslan. I'm confused about how that is related to what I wrote.

[/ QUOTE ]

You made an incorrect assertion and I cited an example of the most horrific mass murder of kids at a school in EUROPE. Your assertion that gun control would prevent these attacks is also wrong, sadly.

lol, the gun shop made him do it. If there were no gun shops he would have been passing out flowers and hugs to everyone.

Until hearing otherwise, i think it is VERY safe to assume the gun was legally manufactured and sold legally to either the shooter or a member of the shooter's family.

IIRC, one of the shooters in Columbine was encouraged to get a gun by his psychologist wasnt he? Or was that another school massacre.

There are soooo many its hard to keep track.
