Default Re: Best Offense line-up ever=Baseball

[ QUOTE ]
1) Ty Cobb - CF - 1911
2) Rogers Hornsby - 2B - 1925
3) Ted Williams - DH - 1941
4) Barry Bonds - LF - 2004
5) Babe Ruth - RF - 1920
6) Lou Gehrig - 1B - 1927
7) Mike Piazza - C - 1997
8) George Brett - 3B - 1980
9) Honus Wagner - SS - 1908

If you aren't using hte DH, take out Williams, move everyone else up a spot and give me Walter Johnson in 1925 as my pitcher. .433 BA in 97 AB...not bad for a 38 year old.

Also, if you're allowing for Negro Leagues, I'm pretty sure Josh Gibson is my catcher, and Pop Lloyd probably knocks out Honus Wagner in his peak years.

I might go with 1957 Mantle instead of Cobb, but otherwise I agree with everything you said.

while bonds is good, if your lineup is all bonds you sacrafice his ability to get free walks. so basically you need to alternate bonds and someone halfway decent so they load the bases with bonds every inning INT WALK him. lol jp.

But really my lineup would be 4 deion sanders and 5 bonds.

Ummm...if my lineup is all Bonds, I don't WANT to get walked.

EDIT: Obv I'd take Pujols now, but give me 2003 Bonds's's's.
