Please explain to me why so many people seem to hate Dids - Page 6

FWIW I like Dids. I can see why people wouldn't like him when they start out (I hated him when I was new), but I eventually realized that most of what he writes is tongue in cheek, and he has no real ill will towards anyone.

A lot of them are. Most of them eat too much as a way of dealing with problems, anxiety or unhappiness. Many don't lose weight because they're afraid of change or having to deal with life without the safety of being fat.

What kind of a loser do you have to be let your body get that large? It's disgusting. So as a result, I'm caustic to fat people, because fat people are stupid.

I like Dids, I think people largely dislike him because he offers criticism a lot, and also because he's fat.

I think dids can come off like a self important ass in his posting. Sometimes it also seems as though he assumes those people who disagree with him are stupid. so I can understand why people dislike him, i have found myself disliking him on occasion but when having to deal with him directly as a mod he has always been very reasonable and made well thought out arguments and decisions.

I also think its pretty tacky to keep bringing up his weight. this is a forum of ideas and i don't see how that could possibly have any relevance.

Assumes?

I think I'm actually pretty good at being clear of what I think is opinion and where I realize I could be wrong, and when I'm stating a position that I consider to be correct as per the word of God and only an idiot would disagree.

Another way to think of it is "it should be pretty clear when I'm kidding and when I'm not, and many people are not good at picking up on when I'm kidding".

The more my sense of humor and method of joking around has to be explained and discussed in this thread, the more the baby jesus dies.
