I'm not a PETA-wing-nut either...

As far as I'm concerned, humans are principally the only animals that can earn justified execution. (Do I need to elaborate on that?) Virtually all species of animals act solely in the interest of economical and pragmatic survival, except humans... It's a derivative of the Golden Rule.

Given that there are no repercussions for me personally...
Anyone depraved enough to torture and kill irrationally for amusement deserves to have their capacity diminished for myriad reasons.

Curiously enough, if there were still no repercussions for me, personally, and I failed to halt the incident before the cat was killed, I would generally have very little compunction about executing the offenders on the spot for the greater good of humanity.

BTW, I also believe that "Curiosity is the root of all evil---scads of money just exacerbates the condition."

You should be executed for writing this post.

Perhaps... But there would probably be repercussions for you.

I wouldn't give a flying **** about the future utility of those wastes of space torturing a cat to death... Perhaps it would be more practical/humane to execute them and release the cat?
