[ QUOTE ]
I am against rape in all forms but the jury made the right decision, IMHO. It looks an awful lot like they were BOTH involved in every aspect. The cop clearly was doing something wrong, but he very likely didn't violate the stripper in any way. The cop should be punished for getting handjobs from strippers and not being a good moral authority, but the case itself it stupid. The stripper just wants money. [/ QUOTE ] She already got money, this was the criminal trial. I don't see how this guy isn't guilty, I mean how can a sex act be consensual when one of the participants is in a clear position of authority over the other? |

[ QUOTE ] this makes me sick... sure, pick on the stripper. i'm with the poster that thinks the lawyer spends 1,000 years in hell watching his 8 year old daughter get jerked off on... [/ QUOTE ] HOw is it the lawyer's fault? He didn't do anything unethical, and put forth a successful defense in a case where the facts seem to clearly be against him. Not his fault the jury bought his BS. He wouldn't be doing his job otherwise. Personally, I think its the cop that is going to hell. Then again, I'm in law school, and may already be jaded. [/ QUOTE ] QFT. Hey NT and Wiper, I have an idea, let's just decide who is guilty or not guilty *BEFORE* the trial and then not give the guilty ones the benefit of legal defense at trial! What an awesome system. Instead of saying that the cop who completely abused his power and sexually assaulted a woman should go to hell, you chose to pick on the lawyer who defended him. If you do want to blame someone besides the rapist, how about the jury that bought into the lawyer's version. God forbid the jury has to actually be impartial and use their [censored] brains. Or how about feeling sad that society (I don't think these 12 jurors are an aberration)dispenses justice according to the victims' and accusers' reputations instead of according to the facts. |

[ QUOTE ] there's a special place in hell for lawyers like this stokke guy... it involves a bunch of sexual predators ejaculating on his family while he watches helplessly. [/ QUOTE ] Why blame him? If the case against the defendant is as strong as you think, then stokke is the only guy who did his job. Condemn the prosecutor or jury. [/ QUOTE ] i think he's saying the defense lawyer had a moral duty not to take the case in the first place i agree though that the jury was whack and the prosecutors probably incompetent |

The moral duty is in representing him zealously even if you think he'll probably lose. Sounds like the jury might have been the one ignoing a moral duty. |

[ QUOTE ] This Stokke guy convinced me. He lawyers good. [/ QUOTE ] When I see a solar eclipse, like the one I went to last year in Hawaii, I think 'Oh no! Is the moon eating the sun?' I don't know. I'm a simple caveman - that's just the way I think. But, there is one thing I do know, and that is my client is innocent of these clearly defamatory charges. [/ QUOTE ] PoTD. |
